Pig breeding stations in Karnataka are found at Hesaraghatta (Bengaluru district), Kudige (Kodagu district), Kalasa (Chikmagalur district), as well as other locations like Koila in Dakshina Kannada and Bangarpet in Kolar district.

Swarnadhara is a poultry breed developed for higher egg production and lower body weight. It was created to improve productivity in poultry farming by enhancing egg laying capacity while maintaining efficient feed conversion ratios.

Lingambudhi Lake is situated in Mysuru city, Karnataka. Mysuru is known for its lakes and parks, and Lingambudhi Lake is a well-known water body in this region. It serves as an important ecological and recreational area within the city limits.

According to the Indian Minerals Yearbook 2019, Karnataka ranked third in kyanite production in 2018-19. Odisha was first, Maharashtra second, and Kerala fourth. Jharkhand leads in overall kyanite resources but not in production.

Kolar, in Karnataka, is known as the Golden City of India due to its Kolar Gold Fields. It is the headquarters of Kolar district. Gold mining started in Kolar Gold Fields in the late 19th century and continued for more than a century before closure in the 21st century.

In 1907 and again in 1908, Aluru Venkata Rao organised the All-Karnataka Writers’ Conference in Dharwad. During the Home Rule Movement, Aluru floated the idea of a Karnataka ‘Provincial’ unit of the Indian National Congress.

Karnataka Gatha Vaibhava was published in the year 1912 by Aluru Venkata Rao. It was a book that recounted in detail the history of Karnataka until the fall of Vijayanagar after which the Marathas, Nizam and the British took over. The book impacted the young and old alike. The movement soon caught the imagination of the public and people started rallying around the Ekikarana movement and the movement picked up momentum.
