Notes:
The Kerala government has launched the Sthree Suraksha Scheme to provide a monthly pension of ₹1,000 to unemployed women and transwomen. The first installment was transferred to 10,18,042 beneficiaries whose applications have been approved so far. Women aged between 35 and 60 years who are economically backward and not receiving any other social welfare pension are eligible for this scheme. Transwomen are also included as beneficiaries under this pension scheme.

Himachal Pradesh expanded Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana to support daughters of widows pursuing higher education within and outside the state. Indira Gandhi Sukh Shiksha Yojana was launched by Himachal Pradesh government. Scheme earlier covered children of widows, destitute or divorced women and disabled parents up to 18 years. Now eligible daughters can receive benefits up to 27 years of age.
Financial aid of Rs 3,000 per month for 10 months for professional courses in government institutions outside state.

The Tourism Department of Rajasthan has launched the Rajasthan Homestay (Paying Guest House) Scheme – 2026 to promote tourism, rural income generation, and self-employment. The scheme was announced by Additional Chief Secretary (Tourism) Praveen Gupta as a major initiative to strengthen tourism infrastructure and boost the rural economy. Rajasthan recorded a 9.74 percent rise in tourist arrivals in 2025, with over 25.44 crore visitors, including more than 25.25 crore domestic tourists. The scheme is expected to further increase tourist inflow by encouraging residents to offer accommodation facilities in their homes.

In February 2026, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the implementation of the “Rah-Veer” scheme in Delhi to promote timely help for road accident victims. The Rah-Veer scheme is a Central Government initiative launched by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to encourage citizens to assist seriously injured accident victims. The scheme focuses on saving lives during the “golden hour,” which is the first critical hour after a serious road accident. The helper will receive a cash incentive of ₹25,000 along with a certificate of appreciation. A maximum reward of ₹25,000 will be given per accident incident, even if multiple victims are rescued.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneur Empowerment Scheme (TWEES) to support one lakh women in starting businesses over five years. The scheme is designed by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department to promote women’s entrepreneurship across the State. The scheme aims to provide training, resources, and opportunities to encourage women-led enterprises.

Ministry of Culture implements the Global Engagement Scheme to promote India’s cultural heritage internationally and enhance its global image. The objective is to strengthen cultural ties with foreign nations, promote bilateral cultural contacts, project India’s cultural identity, and encourage inbound tourism. The scheme has three components: Festival of India (FoI), Grant-in-aid to Indo-Foreign Friendship Cultural Societies and contributions to inter-governmental Organizations.

In March 2026, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched the Gaudham Yojana at Bilaspur to manage stray and abandoned cattle. The scheme aims to set up 1,460 Gaudhams (cattle shelters) across the state with about 10 shelters in each development block. Each shelter will have a capacity of around 200 cattle and all will be named Surabhi Gaudham. In the first phase, 29 Gaudhams across 11 districts were virtually inaugurated. These centres will also provide training in animal husbandry, green fodder cultivation, and value-added products (VAP) from cow dung.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the Small Hydro Power (SHP) Development Scheme for the period FY 2026–27 to FY 2030–31 with a total outlay of ₹2,584.60 crore. The scheme aims to install around 1500 MW capacity through small hydro power projects (1–25 MW each) across various states, especially benefiting hilly and North Eastern regions. In North Eastern states and border districts, the scheme provides central financial assistance of ₹3.6 crore per MW or 30% of project cost (whichever is lower), with a maximum limit of ₹30 crore per project. In other states, financial assistance is set at ₹2.4 crore per MW or 20% of project cost (whichever is lower), capped at ₹20 crore per project.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Narendra Modi has approved the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA) with an allocation of ₹33,660 crore to develop 100 plug-and-play industrial parks across India. The scheme aims to create world-class industrial infrastructure, unlock manufacturing potential, and strengthen India’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat (developed India). BHAVYA builds upon the success of industrial smart cities developed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP) and will be implemented in partnership with states and private sector players.

Notes:
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education recommended adding breakfast under PM POSHAN to reduce undernourishment and stunting among children. The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) suggests nutritious breakfast before cognitively demanding morning classes to improve learning outcomes. Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Karnataka have already launched breakfast programmes using their own resources. PM POSHAN is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme under the Ministry of Education, replacing the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, and is implemented by the Department of School Education and Literacy. It provides one hot cooked meal daily to Classes 1–8 and Bal Vatikas in government and government-aided schools.
