Department of Biotechnology implements Biotech-KISAN (Krishi Innovation Science Application Network) since 2017 to connect lab research with farmers. The scheme established more than 50 Biotech-KISAN hubs across 25 States/UTs, covering diverse agro-climatic regions. It has benefited over 1 lakh farmers with 15–37% yield improvement through demonstrations and training. It promotes sustainable practices like biofertilizers, precision farming, integrated pest management, and residue-free cultivation.

The Union Government unveiled a roadmap to reduce dependence on imported petroleum, ammonia, and fertilizers, highlighting the Coal Gasification Incentive Scheme. The scheme was approved in 2024 to promote coal and lignite gasification projects in both public and private sectors. It aims to achieve 100 million tonnes of coal gasification by 2030, utilizing India’s abundant coal reserves for sustainable industrial development. The scheme encourages participation of PSUs and private players to set up gasification projects across the country. It forms a key part of India’s clean coal transition strategy.

Punjab launched the “Meri Rasoi Yojna” to provide free kitchen kits to around 40 lakh economically weaker families under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013. The scheme aims to reduce kitchen expenses, improve nutrition, and strengthen food security for poor households. Each kit includes moong-chana dal, sugar, iodised salt, turmeric, and mustard oil, and will be distributed once every three months. Special priority is given to families with differently abled members, senior citizens, and single-parent households. The kitchen kits will be prepared by Punjab State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited and distributed through the Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Punjab.

Ministry of Education signed an MoU with the West Bengal government to implement the PM SHRI Scheme in the state. PM SHRI stands for Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India. The centrally sponsored scheme aims to develop over 14,500 model schools aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). The scheme focuses on smart classrooms, digital learning, modern infrastructure, holistic education, and regular quality assessment. PM SHRI schools are managed by Central and State Governments, local bodies, Kendriya Vidyalayas, and Navodaya Vidyalayas. The scheme will run from 2022-23 to 2026-27.

West Bengal approved the Annapurna Yojana, also known as the Annapurna Bhandar scheme. Under the scheme, eligible women will receive ₹3,000 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Women beneficiaries will also get free travel on all state-run buses from June 1. Existing beneficiaries of the Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme will automatically be shifted to the new scheme. The state government will launch an online portal and local camps to include left-out eligible applicants.

PM SVANidhi Scheme has emerged as a major initiative supporting street vendors working in India’s informal urban economy through financial assistance and social security measures. PM SVANidhi Scheme was launched in 2020 as a Central Sector Scheme to provide financial support to street vendors. It promotes digital transactions through cashback incentives and UPI-linked RuPay Credit Cards for eligible vendors. The scheme also provides training in financial literacy, digital literacy, and food safety & hygiene. It is implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with the Department of Financial Services.

Recently, the Union Minister stated that India’s Design Linked Incentive Scheme is showing positive results in strengthening the country’s semiconductor ecosystem. The DLI Scheme aims to develop India’s fabless semiconductor capability, reduce import dependence, and increase domestic value addition. Start-ups and MSMEs receive financial incentives and design infrastructure support, while domestic companies receive deployment incentives. It is implemented by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under the Semicon India Programme, with Centre for Development of Advanced Computing as the nodal agency.

The Maharashtra Cabinet has launched the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmafi Yojna to provide farm loan relief to farmers. The scheme will benefit about 56 lakh farmers across the state. It waives outstanding crop loans up to ₹2 lakh per farmer. Farmers who have regularly repaid their loans will receive an incentive of ₹50,000.
There is no landholding criterion for eligibility under the scheme. The loan waiver is applicable to short-term crop loans taken between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2025.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship organized an Industry Interaction on the PM-SETU Scheme for the Rajasthan cluster on 3 June 2026. The event focused on effective implementation of Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs (PM-SETU) in the Bhiwadi industrial hub of Rajasthan. PM-SETU is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme launched to strengthen India’s vocational training ecosystem. It aims to modernize 1,000 Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into industry-aligned and future-ready training institutions. The scheme follows a hub-and-spoke model, comprising 200 Hub ITIs and 800 Spoke ITIs.

On World Environment Day 2026, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated 18 Namo Oxygen Parks in Delhi. The initiative was launched under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign to promote urban greening, improve air quality, and encourage public participation in environmental conservation. The Namo Oxygen Parks are designed to act as urban green lungs, enhancing biodiversity and providing recreational spaces.
