Recently, the Union Cabinet led by the Prime Minister approved the Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. It is the first scheme focused exclusively on agriculture and allied sectors. The scheme aims to boost productivity, crop diversification, sustainable farming, storage, irrigation, and credit access. It will be implemented through convergence of 36 existing schemes from 11 departments and state-private partnerships. 100 districts will be selected based on low productivity, low cropping intensity, and less credit disbursement.

Recently, the Bihar government announced free electricity up to 125 units per month for 1.67 crore families from 1 August 2025. This move provides major financial relief to domestic electricity consumers across the state. The government will also install rooftop and nearby public space solar power plants over the next three years with consumer consent. The United Kingdom (UK) has opened its final 2025 visa ballot under the India Young Professionals Scheme for Indians aged 18–30 to live, work, or study in the UK for two years. The scheme was part of the India-UK Migration and Mobility Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in May 2021 and announced during the G20 summit in Bali. It was officially launched in February 2023. It allows Indian citizens aged 18–30 with a bachelor’s degree or higher to live and work in the UK for up to two years.

Recently, the Government approved ‘Namo Drone Didi’ as a Central Sector Scheme to provide 15,000 drones to Women Self Help Groups (SHGs) from 2023-24 to 2025-26 with a total outlay of ₹1261 crore. The scheme aims to promote advanced agricultural technology, enhance crop yield, reduce operational costs, and empower SHGs as drone service providers for income and livelihood. Central Financial Assistance (CFA) of 80% of the drone package cost, up to ₹8 lakh, is provided to selected SHGs. One SHG member receives 15-day drone pilot training and another member gets 5-day assistant training under the scheme.

Recently, 27 states—except West Bengal—received central approval to set up PM Ekta Malls under the One District, One Product (ODOP) initiative. PM Ekta Mall was announced in Union Budget 2023–24 to promote ODOP, Geographical Indication (GI) goods, and local handicrafts. The scheme is implemented under Part-VI of Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) by the Ministry of Finance. ₹4,796 crore worth of projects were approved in FY 2023–24 under this scheme. Uttar Pradesh received the highest ₹370.25 crore for malls in Agra, Lucknow, and Varanasi.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu launched the Annadata Sukhibhava-PM Kisan scheme in East Veerayapalem, Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. A total of ₹3,175 crore was disbursed to 46.85 lakh farmers, with ₹7,000 per farmer in the first phase. The ₹7,000 included ₹5,000 from the State (₹2,343 crore) and ₹2,000 from the Centre (₹832 crore), part of a ₹20,000 annual aid. The scheme is a historic step to empower farmers. Farmers were advised to use the Sukhibhava portal or helpline (155251) for any payment issues.

India has achieved a record-low price of ₹55.75/kg for Green Ammonia in the first Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) auction. This milestone was achieved under the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme. The scheme is a flagship financial component of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. The scheme aims to scale up green hydrogen production and use in India. It seeks to make green hydrogen cost-competitive with fossil fuels. It also focuses on creating domestic demand in key sectors like industry and transport.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi approved the ‘Multidisciplinary Education and Research Improvement in Technical Education’ (MERITE) Scheme. The scheme will be implemented in 275 technical institutions, including 175 engineering institutions and 100 polytechnics, across all States and Union Territories. It is a Central Sector Scheme with a budget of ₹4,200 crore from 2025-26 to 2029-30, including ₹2,100 crore loan assistance from the World Bank. The aim is to improve quality, equity, and governance in technical education, aligned with the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020).

The Mahatari Vandan Yojana is transforming women’s lives in Chhattisgarh by boosting economic and social empowerment. More than 69.19 lakh women across the state are currently benefiting from this initiative. It was launched by the Chhattisgarh government in March 2024 to empower women socially and economically. It aims to address gender discrimination, inequality, improve health and nutrition, promote economic independence, and strengthen women’s decision-making in families.

On 14 August 2025, Madhya Pradesh witnessed a historic event for farmers as Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav released the second installment of the Chief Minister Kisan Kalyan Yojana (CMKKY) 2025-26 in Mandla. More than 83 lakh farmers will benefit, receiving ₹6,000 per year under CMKKY, in addition to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana benefits. The scheme was launched by Madhya Pradesh government in September 2020. The scheme has already transferred over ₹17,500 crore directly to farmers’ bank accounts till March 2025. The installment aims to boost financial stability for Kharif and Rabi seasons, support input purchases, and encourage investments in allied activities.
