The Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, Professor Ajay Sood, and British High Commissioner unveiled the book titled ‘She Is–Women in STEAM’.
The book honours 75 women in STEAM (fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). It is supported by the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, FICCI FLO, and British High Commission of India.

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) has organised a hybrid summit titled ‘Sustainable Textiles Summit’ in New Delhi.
The summit is supported by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The aim of the summit is to discuss alternative ways to make the textile industry more sustainable. Experts from France, Sweden and Germany will be participating in the meet.

Notes:
The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) will launch the ‘Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan’ programme under National Clean Air Programme 2019 (NCAP).
Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan will rank 131 cities in the country for implementing City Action Plans prepared as part of NCAP to reducie air pollution up to 40 per cent by 2025-26.

Indian-origin Home Secretary Suella Braverman has been named winner of the first-ever Queen Elizabeth II Woman of the Year award.
The 42-year-old barrister was appointed to the Cabinet earlier this month by British Prime Minister Liz Truss. The awards recognise the achievements of individuals from across Britain’s South Asian community via public nominations.

The report titled ‘Food Barons 2022, Profiteering, Digitalization and Shifting Power’ was released recently.
The report says that the geographic center of power of the food barons is shifting east. It reports that the China-based Syngenta Group is the world’s largest agrochemical input firm.

Indian Railways has installed the Real-Time Train Information System (RTIS), developed in collaboration with ISRO, on locomotives and trains.
It provides automatic acquisition of train movement timing at the stations, timing of arrival and departure or run-through. They get automatically plotted on the control chart of the trains in the Control Office Application (COA) system.

To commemorate the birth anniversary Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya , September 25 is celebrated as Antyodaya Diwas in India since 2014.
Deendayal Upadhyaya mobilised the concept of ‘Antyodaya’ which literally means, “the rise of the last person.” He stressed on Antyodaya to target the extreme poverty existed in India during and after the independence.

As per a recent study, ants present across the world collectively constitute about 12 million tonnes of dry carbon.
The number of ants across the world is estimated about 20 quadrillion or 20 thousand million millions. They collectively weigh more than wild birds and mammals combined

China launched two experimental satellites named Shiyan-14 and Shiyan-15. The pair of satellites entered the preset orbit.
The Shiyan-14 will be used to conduct scientific experiments and verify new technologies, while the Shiyan-15 will provide data in the fields of land survey, urban planning, and disaster prevention and mitigation.

The Central Government has decided to extend the free food-grain scheme for those below the poverty line (BPL), for another three months till December 31, 2022.
This will be the seventh phase of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) which will cost the Centre an additional Rs 44,762 crore.
