Indian major Public sector Unit Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brazilian oil major Petrobras, to diversify its crude oil sourcing.
Bharat PetroResources Limited (BPRL) plans to invest USD 1.6 billion to develop an oil block in Brazil to procure equity oil overseas. For the first time, India will ink a long-term supply deal with Oil major- Petrobras that operates in the oil, natural gas and energy industry.

India’s ace female cricketer Jhulan Goswami announced her retirement recently, as she played her final international match against England at Lord’s.
Jhulan played 12 Tests, 204 ODIs and 68 T20Is for the Indian women’s team. She has clinched 255 ODI wickets, the most by a women’s cricketer in the format. In 2007, Jhulan Goswami became the first female Indian cricketer to be named the ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year. She received the prestigious Arjuna Award in 2010.

The 13th Global Skills Summit 2022 has been organized by FICCI in New Delhi. The theme of the Summit is Education to Employability – Making it Happen.
Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradan inaugurated and addressed the Summit. Representatives from World Bank, ILO, UNDP, UNICEF and Industry leaders from organizations like LinkedIn, Amazon, Adobe will participate in the summit.

To mark the anniversaries of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) the National Health Authority organized ‘Arogya Manthan’.
Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya awarded best performing states for PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) and ABDM (Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission).

‘World Pharmacist Day’ is observed on September 25, every year, to highlight the role of pharmacists and pay tribute to them.
This year’s theme is ‘Pharmacy united in action for a healthier world’. The Day is introduced in 2009 by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) council in Istanbul. On the same day in 1912, the International Pharmaceutical Federation was established.

The Government has decided to appoint Lt General Anil Chauhan (Retired) as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
He shall also function as Secretary to Government of India, Department of Military Affairs. In a career spanning over nearly 40 years, he has served in various positions. Lt General, he became the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command in 2019 until he retired in 2021.

Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has found more than 100 remains including largest Varha sculpture of 9th century to 15th century in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserves in Madhya Pradesh.
Twenty-six caves of 2nd Century CE to 5th century CE, remains of Mahayana sect of Buddhism like chaitya shaped doors and cells containing stone beds were found. Other findings include stone games, water filter structure, coins and Brahmi inscriptions.

The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises has organized a National SC-ST hub conclave in Gujarat
The program included participation of CPSEs like NTPC Ltd., Food Corporation of India, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Indian Oil Corporation Limited, financial institutions such as State Bank of India and Yes Bank.

International Day of Awareness on Food Loss and Waste Reduction is observed every year on September 29, since 2019.
Food and Nutrition Organization of the UN (FAO) and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) facilitate the observance of this Day. As many as 96 million additional people were pushed into acute food insecurity in 2020 across 54 IDA countries. The theme for this year’s International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste will be, ‘Stop Food Loss and Waste! For People and Planet.’

Notes:
‘World Rabies Day’ is observed every year on September 28, to raise awareness about rabies prevention and to highlight progress in defeating this disease.
It also marks the death anniversary of the French chemist and microbiologist Louis Pasteur, who developed the first rabies vaccine.
