The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has reappointed Dilip Asbe as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of the company for a period of five years.
Dilip Asbe took over as MD&CEO of NPCI in January 2018. NPCI is an umbrella organisation for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India.

Notes:
Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly passed the Code of Criminal Procedure (Uttar Pradesh Amendment) Bill 2022 which bars granting of anticipatory bail to rape accused.
A provision has been made to not grant anticipatory bail to those accused of offences under the POCSO Act and misconduct with women. The amendment bill empowers a claims tribunal to compensate anyone killed in riots with Rs 5 lakh.

Airbus announced that it would have its first zero emission (ZEROe) aircraft ready by 2035. It also announced that India will contribute to its design, research and development.
Airbus has started the work towards building the world’s first zero-emission commercial aircraft has already begun and Airbus India is involved in the design and development of the ZEROe aircraft.

As part of Operation ‘Megha Chakra’, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out searches at 56 locations in 19 states and a UT in connection with two cases of circulation of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) online.
The recent searches were based on inputs from Interpol Singapore and intelligence obtained during Operation Carbon, conducted last year against peddlers of CSAM on Internet.

The Union Bank of India inaugurated the Ethical Hacking Lab at the Cyber Security Centre of Excellence (CCoE) in Hyderabad.
The lab which is equipped with cyber defence mechanism will protect the bank’s information system, digital assets, and channels, against cyber threats.

The 13th Global Skills Summit 2022 has been organized by FICCI in New Delhi. The theme of the Summit is Education to Employability – Making it Happen.
Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradan inaugurated and addressed the Summit. Representatives from World Bank, ILO, UNDP, UNICEF and Industry leaders from organizations like LinkedIn, Amazon, Adobe will participate in the summit.

The Supreme Court is set to begin live streaming of three separate constitutional benches from the NIC platform to promote transparency.
Supreme Court is also said to be in the process of having its separate OTT in future, on the lines of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.  The three constitution bench cases, including the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota case, the rift in Shiv Sena case and the case related to validity of All India Bar Examination.

The Foreign Trade Policy (2015-20) has been extended from time to time. Export Promotion Councils and leading exporters have been demanding tocontinue with current Foreign Trade Policy.
The Central Government has decided to extend the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20, valid till Sept 30, 2022 for a further period of six months, with effect from October 1 , 2022.

The 8th edition of the World Green Economy Summit was inaugurated in the city of Dubai World Trade Centre, United Arab Emirates.
Ministers, officials, and experts from around the world are taking part in the summit, held under the theme of ‘Climate Action Leadership through Collaboration: The Roadmap to Net-Zero’.

International Day for Universal Access to Information was declared to be observed annually on September 28 by UNESCO.
This day aims to support the idea that everyone has the right to seek, receive, and distribute information. The theme of the Global Conference in 2022 is ‘Artificial Intelligence, e-Governance and Access to Information’. The conference is set to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
