India launched the ‘Innovation Roadmap of the Mission Integrated Bio-refineries’ on the sidelines of the Global Clean Energy Action Forum-2022 at Pittsburgh, US
The Roadmap has been developed by co-leads with active inputs from Brazil, Canada, EC and the UK. The Mission aims at greater collaboration and the need for increased financing for Energy Research, Development, and Demonstration (RD&D) during the next five years through public-private investment.

‘FridaysForFuture (FFF)’ is a youth-led movement that began in August 2018, to protest against the lack of action on the climate crisis.
FFF organised Global climate strikes across the world, which was attended by thousands of young activists. The campaign demanded stronger policies for climate reparation. It took place a day after ‘Loss and Damage Action Day’.

Airbus announced that it would have its first zero emission (ZEROe) aircraft ready by 2035. It also announced that India will contribute to its design, research and development.
Airbus has started the work towards building the world’s first zero-emission commercial aircraft has already begun and Airbus India is involved in the design and development of the ZEROe aircraft.

The 13th Global Skills Summit 2022 has been organized by FICCI in New Delhi. The theme of the Summit is Education to Employability – Making it Happen.
Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradan inaugurated and addressed the Summit. Representatives from World Bank, ILO, UNDP, UNICEF and Industry leaders from organizations like LinkedIn, Amazon, Adobe will participate in the summit.

Twenty-three Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will organise a mega research and development fair called “IInvenTiv”.
The event is aimed at creating holistic awareness around research and innovation projects being done in the institution. It will also seek collaborations with universities and institutes, industry and the IITs for better development of the innovations.

The Plenipotentiary Conference of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is held in Bucharest, Romania.
During the conference, elections will be held from among Member States to constitute next ITU Council for the term 2023-26. India’s Minister of State for Communications would participate in the Ministerial Round Table on the theme -Building a better digital future for all.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik released the ‘Encyclopedia of Tribes in Odisha’. The five volumes of the encyclopedia were published by Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI) and Odisha State Tribal Museum.
The edited volumes contain 3800 pages and 418 research articles covering all 62 tribal communities and 13 particularly vulnerable tribal groups. The book will be a repository for academicians, researchers and policymakers.

Veteran actor Asha Parekh has been selected for the Dadasaheb Phalke award for the year 2020 and will be presented the award at the National Film Awards ceremony, to be held in New Delhi
Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth was the recipient of the last Dadasaheb Phalke award. Asha Parekh, the 52nd awardee of the honour, worked in more than 95 films and was the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification from 1998-2001. Established in 1954, the awards are being organised by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has found more than 100 remains including largest Varha sculpture of 9th century to 15th century in Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserves in Madhya Pradesh.
Twenty-six caves of 2nd Century CE to 5th century CE, remains of Mahayana sect of Buddhism like chaitya shaped doors and cells containing stone beds were found. Other findings include stone games, water filter structure, coins and Brahmi inscriptions.

Polish newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza was awarded Golden Pen of Freedom by World Association of News Publishers
The award was announced during the 2022 World News Media Congress currently taking place in Zaragoza, Spain. The Golden Pen of Freedom is WAN-IFRA’s annual award recognising individuals or organisations who contribute to the defence and promotion of press freedom.
