Notes:
According to the Sample Registration System (SRS) Statistical Report 2020, released by the Registrar General of India (RGI), Uttarakhand’s sex ratio at birth was found to be the worst in the country at 844.
Sex Ratio is the number of females per 1,000 males. Kerala’s ratio was the best, at 974. The report stated that India’s overall sex ratio at birth had gone up by 3 points to 907 in 2018-20 from 904 in 2017-19. It was 907 in rural areas and 910 in urban areas.

Notes:
As part of Operation ‘Megha Chakra’, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out searches at 56 locations in 19 states and a UT in connection with two cases of circulation of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) online.
The recent searches were based on inputs from Interpol Singapore and intelligence obtained during Operation Carbon, conducted last year against peddlers of CSAM on Internet.

The 13th Global Skills Summit 2022 has been organized by FICCI in New Delhi. The theme of the Summit is Education to Employability – Making it Happen.
Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradan inaugurated and addressed the Summit. Representatives from World Bank, ILO, UNDP, UNICEF and Industry leaders from organizations like LinkedIn, Amazon, Adobe will participate in the summit.

To mark the anniversaries of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) the National Health Authority organized ‘Arogya Manthan’.
Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya awarded best performing states for PMJAY (Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana) and ABDM (Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission).

The Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) was launched under Startup India initiative in 2016 by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, with a corpus of Rs. 10,000 crore
FFS has committed Rs. 7,385 crore to 88 Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) so far. These AIFs have invested Rs. 11,206 crore in 720 startups. The corpus is to be built up over Finance Commission Cycles (FY 2016-2020 and FY 2021-2025) through budgetary support by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Veteran actor Asha Parekh has been selected for the Dadasaheb Phalke award for the year 2020 and will be presented the award at the National Film Awards ceremony, to be held in New Delhi
Tamil film superstar Rajinikanth was the recipient of the last Dadasaheb Phalke award. Asha Parekh, the 52nd awardee of the honour, worked in more than 95 films and was the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification from 1998-2001. Established in 1954, the awards are being organised by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).

The Government has decided to appoint Lt General Anil Chauhan (Retired) as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
He shall also function as Secretary to Government of India, Department of Military Affairs. In a career spanning over nearly 40 years, he has served in various positions. Lt General, he became the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command in 2019 until he retired in 2021.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the World’s First CNG Terminal and a brownfield port at Bhavnagar, Gujarat.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Regional Science Centre which is spread over 20 acres and has been built at a cost of around Rs 100 crores.

Adani Green Energy has commissioned the world’s largest wind-solar power plant of 600 MW capacity in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
The plant has a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The project consists of 600 MW solar and 150 MW wind plants. The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved acquisition by Adani Power of share capital of Diliigent Power and DB Power.

The ‘World Maritime Day’ is observed every year on September 29.  This year’s theme is – ‘New technologies for greener shipping’.
As per the UN Secretary-General António Guterres in his message for the Day, Maritime transport represents more than 80 per cent of global trade.
