Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched the mascot and the anthem for the 36th National Games in Ahmedabad.
The mascot is named as ‘Savaj’ which means cub in Gujarati. The theme of the anthem is ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The National Games will be organised from September 29 to October 12, across six cities in the state.

China became the first country to approve a needle-free, inhaled version of a Covid-19 vaccine made by Tianjin-based CanSino Biologics.
China approved CanSino’s Ad5-nCoV for emergency use as a booster vaccine. The inhaled version can stimulate cellular immunity and induce mucosal immunity to boost protection without intramuscular injection.

Indian Army Chief General Manoj Pande was conferred with the honorary rank of General of Nepal Army by President of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari.
The ceremony was part of the unique tradition between the Armies of both the countries. General Pande is on a four-day official visit to Nepal. He also handed over non-lethal military aids including Artillery Equipment, Mine Protected Vehicles, Medical Stores and Horses to Nepal Army.

The Indian Government, along with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has prepared an action plan for facilitation of special rupee accounts for trade settlements.
Banks are asked to speed up the process of opening special rupee vostro accounts (SRVA) of correspondent banks of partner trading countries. This aims to promote cross-border trade in rupees instead of the US dollar.

Himalaya Diwas is celebrated every year on 9th September in the state of Uttarakhand, with an aim to conserve Himalayan ecosystem and region. It was officially declared as Himalaya Day in 2015 by the state’s then Chief Minister.
In 2014, the then Chief Minister Harish Rawat officially declared September 9 as ‘Himalaya Diwas’, to be celebrated across the State to spread the message of conservation of the Himalayan ecosystems.

Shikshak Parv is being to felicitate the Teachers and to take National Education Policy 2020 forward. The beginning of Shikshak Parv was marked with an inaugural conclave organised by Ministry of Education, CBSE, AICTE and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in New Delhi.
During the occasion, ‘Report on National Mental Health Survey’, ‘ National Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Study report’ and ‘Screening Tools Mobile App for Specific Learning Disabilities- Prashast’ were launched.

Google recently paid tribute to the veteran playback singer Dr Bhupen Hazarika with a doodle on his 96th birth anniversary.
Hazarika, who was born in Assam’s Tinsukia district in 1926, was an exceptional singer who sang evergreen songs in several languages. Called as the ‘Bard of Brahmaputra’, he was also a poet, music composer, actor, journalist, author and film-maker.

The Union Cabinet granted ex post facto approval for the Memorandum of Understanding between India and the United Kingdom on mutual recognition of academic qualifications.
Mutual Recognition of Qualifications between India and UK aims to promote academic collaboration and student mobility.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the inauguration ceremony of ‘Kalam no Carnival’ Book Fair organised by Navbharat Sahitya Mandir in Ahmedabad.
The traditional exhibition helps in expanding the literature and knowledge of Gujarat.

World Suicide Prevention Day is observed on September 10. According to the World Health Organization, an estimated 703,000 people a year take their life around the world.
‘Creating Hope through Action’ has been the triennial theme for World Suicide Prevention Day from 2021 to 2023. It aims to raise awareness on preventing suicides among organisations, the government and the public.
