The Indian Government, along with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has prepared an action plan for facilitation of special rupee accounts for trade settlements.
Banks are asked to speed up the process of opening special rupee vostro accounts (SRVA) of correspondent banks of partner trading countries. This aims to promote cross-border trade in rupees instead of the US dollar.

India ranked 132nd among 191 countries and territories in the 2021 Human Development Index (HDI).
As per a report by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), decline in the country’s performance from its previous level due to a fall in life expectancy. In the 2020 report, India had ranked 131st among 189 countries and territories.

The plan to deal with the death of the head of state in Britain was termed Operation London Bridge. Queen Elizabeth II died at the age of 96 after reigning for 70 years.
The plan lists the procedures that explain moments after her death and culminate with her funeral 10 days later. The part of the plan for her death at her castle in Scotland was codenamed ‘Operation Unicorn’.

Australia Captain Aaron Finch announced his retirement from one-day international cricket. Finch has represented Australia in the 145 ODIs.
Finch will continue to captain the Australian team in this year’s ICC T20 World Cup. His career includes over 5400 runs with 17 centuries. He made his debut against Sri Lanka in 2013 and smashed his maiden hundred against Scotland, scoring 148 runs.

Sanjay Kumar Rakesh, CEO of Common Service Centre (CSC) Special Purpose Vehicle, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the company.
The decision to this effect was taken at the Board Meeting of CSC held at the Ministry of Electronics & IT. Sanjay Kumar Rakesh took over as the CEO of CSC SPV in 2020 after taking voluntary retirement from IAS. He served as the Additional Chief Secretary of Tripura and Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Electronics & IT.

The President of India appointed Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari, Chief Justice, Madras High Court as Chairman of Appellate Tribunal under the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators Act (SAFEMA).
The Justice was set to retire retire as Chief Justice of Madras High Court on September 12. The order was issued by the Department of Revenue under the Ministry of Finance.

Union Cabinet has approved the inclusion of 12 caste communities of Chhattisgarh in the list of Scheduled Tribes
The Cabinet also approved the inclusion of some tribal communities of Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh in the list of Scheduled Tribes. Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda said that the move will help them availing welfare benefits.

Azerbaijan and Armenia, former Soviet republics, are located in the mountainous Caucasus region, which span Asia and Europe. Azerbaijan is bounded by the Caspian Sea.
Azerbaijan reported that over 70 of its troops had died in border clashes with Armenia in the worst fighting since 2020.
