The 61st edition of the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament began after a gap of two years.
It is regarded as the most prestigious football tournament for schools all over the country. The tournament is organised by the Subroto Mukherjee Sports Education Society along with the Indian Air Force. A total of 92 schools representing 25 States and UTs of India along with the Air Force School, Bangladesh are competing in the tournament.

Delhi environment minister Gopal Rai announced that the ban on production, sale and use of all types of firecrackers will be extended till January 1, 2023.
The decision has been taken to contain the pollution during the festival season. The ban has been also been extended to online sale of firecrackers. An action plan is set to be drawn to ensure strict enforcement of the ban. The AAP also launched the ‘patakhe nahi diye jalao’ campaign to create awareness against bursting of firecrackers.

Shikshak Parv is being to felicitate the Teachers and to take National Education Policy 2020 forward. The beginning of Shikshak Parv was marked with an inaugural conclave organised by Ministry of Education, CBSE, AICTE and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in New Delhi.
During the occasion, ‘Report on National Mental Health Survey’, ‘ National Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Study report’ and ‘Screening Tools Mobile App for Specific Learning Disabilities- Prashast’ were launched.

Google recently paid tribute to the veteran playback singer Dr Bhupen Hazarika with a doodle on his 96th birth anniversary.
Hazarika, who was born in Assam’s Tinsukia district in 1926, was an exceptional singer who sang evergreen songs in several languages. Called as the ‘Bard of Brahmaputra’, he was also a poet, music composer, actor, journalist, author and film-maker.

The U.S. Air Force launched an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile test at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The purpose of the ICBM test launch program is to demonstrate the readiness of U.S. nuclear forces.

Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav inaugurated the first National Conference on Sustainable Coastal Management in India in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
The Conference was focused on enhancing climate resilience of India’s coastal communities. It was attended by officials from all 13 coastal states of India with focus on the three interrelated themes of coastal and marine biodiversity, climate mitigation and adaptation and coastal pollution.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel recently unveiled the state’s first Cinematic Tourism Policy in Gandhinagar.
Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹1,020 crore were signed for the development of film infrastructure and film production. The policy scheme offers financial and non-financial incentives for film infrastructure development projects and for film-making projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the International Dairy Federation World Dairy Summit (IDF WDS) 2022 in Greater Noida.
Indian dairy industry accounts for about 23% of global milk, producing around 210 million tonnes annually. Various schemes have led to an increase of milk production by more than 44% in the last eight years.

US President Joe Biden has announced an ambitious plan to reduce cancer deaths in the United States.
A new agency named ‘ARPA-H, Advanced Research Projects Agencies for Health’ regarding the plan. Cancer is the second most cause of death in the country after heart disease. ARPA-H aims to prevent, detect, and treat diseases including Cancer, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, and other diseases.
