A space consortium formed by Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) was awarded the contract for the next five Polar Satellite Launch Vehicles (PSLVs).
The consortium bagged a Rs 860-crore contract for end-to-end realisation of five PSLVs over a period of four years from NewsSpace India (NSIL). This was announced during the inaugural session of the 7th Bengaluru Space Expo 2022.

Niti Aayog released a report titled ‘Preserving Progress on Nutrition in India: Poshan Abhiyan in Pandemic Times’.
As per the report, Maharashtra won the top rank among states in the implementation of the Poshan Abhiyaan scheme. Andhra Pradesh came second and Gujarat is at the third rank. Andhra Pradesh is first in 100 per cent recruitment of human resources required for implementation of Poshan during Covid. It also tops in the distribution of mobile phones to Anganwadi workers.

Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri will lead an official and business delegation to Milan, Italy to attend the Gastech Milan-2022.
Gastech is the World’s largest gathering focussed on LNG as a bridge fuel will bring together Ministers and CEOs to discuss evolving energy landscape and sustainable energy transition. The Minister will chair the panel discussion on sustainable future of India’s energy industry.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that HDFC Bank (in partnership with Sweden-based Crunchfish Aktiebolag) has been selected for the test phase for their ‘Offline Retail Payments’.
Precision Biometric India Pvt. Ltd has been selected for test phase of ‘InnaIT Key Solution for Banking’ products. The institutions were selected for the theme ‘Retail Payments’ under Regulatory Sandbox. RBI introduced a Regulatory Sandbox (RS) in 2019 to develop innovation in financial services to benefit consumers.

A majority 61.9 percent of Chileans voted against the proposed new constitution. It was set to replace the ruling constitution written in 1980 during the dictatorship of conservative President Augusto Pinochet.
In 2019, millions of Chileans took to the streets to march against the rising costs of living and inequalities. 36 year old Gabriel Boric was sworn in as the new President of Chile. The new proposal was claimed as feminist, ecological and progressive.

Ministry of Forest, Environment and Climate Change recently approved the New Coastal Zone Management Plan for Karnataka.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for various works worth Rs 3,800 crore at Goldfinch city in Karnataka. Karnataka is the first State in southern India and only the second state in the country to get the Plan prepared and approved as per the new Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notification.

The 61st edition of the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament began after a gap of two years.
It is regarded as the most prestigious football tournament for schools all over the country. The tournament is organised by the Subroto Mukherjee Sports Education Society along with the Indian Air Force. A total of 92 schools representing 25 States and UTs of India along with the Air Force School, Bangladesh are competing in the tournament.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Plenary Session of 7th Eastern Economic Forum being held in Vladivostok through video conferencing.
India has made significant investments in the Russian Far East in the fields of pharmaceuticals and diamonds. India was the first country to open a consulate in Vladivostok and thirty years are completed since the establishment of the Consulate of India in the city.

India ranked 132nd among 191 countries and territories in the 2021 Human Development Index (HDI).
As per a report by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), decline in the country’s performance from its previous level due to a fall in life expectancy. In the 2020 report, India had ranked 131st among 189 countries and territories.

The World Health Organisation has launched a USD 1.5 billion campaign, to include a new vaccine, to eliminate outbreaks of bacterial meningitis across Africa by 2030.
WHO hopes to authorize the vaccine by the first quarter of 2023, which would enable donors to buy it for Africa. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Meningitis vaccinations for more than 50 million children in Africa have been delayed.
