‘The Centre for Medical Skills for paramedical staff’ is set to come up at Babadam in West Garo Hills of Meghalaya.
The Meghalaya Cabinet approved the construction of Centre that will be built at the cost of Rs 152 crores. The Medical Skill Hunar Hub will have space for 2500 students with several facilities including hostel, Pharmaceutical College, Paramedical College and Skill Development Centre.

Chief Minister of Karnataka Basavaraj Bommai launched the ‘Startup Pitch Challenge’. The state government of Karnataka is organising the challenge in partnership with TiE Global and TiE Bengaluru, a non-profit, global community.
It aims to recognize and support startups in manufacturing related sectors and provide them a platform to showcase their strengths and ensure funding. The event has been planned for the Global Investors Meet (GIM) – ‘Invest Karnataka 2022’.

Puli Thevar was a 18th century Tamil King who fought against the British. He was one of the first fighters to refuse to pay taxes to the British.
Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi and Chief Minister M K Stalin paid floral tributes to the statue of freedom fighter while Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to the leader.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched the Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS) initiative in July 2022, with an outlay of more than Rs 750 crore.
Under the scheme, the central government will promote over 10,000 startups in the next five to six years. GENESIS is a National Deep-tech Startup Platform, to support and create successful startups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities of India.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) approved a loan of USD 2.9 billion to Sri Lanka. The country is battling its worst economic crisis since independence in 1948.
Sri Lankan President Wickremesinghe, who is also the country’s Finance Minister, presented his first budget, which aimed to boost revenue and fight inflation.

Alappuzha has become the fifth fully digital banking district in the State of Kerala. This was declared by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Kerala.
As part of the initiative, at least one digital transaction facility, such as debit-credit card, Internet banking, mobile banking, UPI etc, has been enabled in 26 lakh bank accounts in 29 banks in the district. Banking services in Thrissur, Kottayam, Palakkad and Kasaragod have already become digital.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has restructured its high-level panel on cyber security
The committee, which has now six members, will be chaired by Navin Kumar Singh, DG at National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC). The Steering committee has been given the task of overseeing and providing guidance on cyber security initiatives for SEBI as well as for the capital market.

The Thai trade centre in Chennai launched its first trade expo in Hyderabad, with the aim to build stronger ties between Telangana and Thailand.
The trade expo will focus on building business relations between Thai companies and Hyderabad business community. An MoU that was earlier signed between the Government of Telangana and the Ministry of Commerce, Thailand to increase bi-lateral trade.

China has responded to a United Nations report on alleged human rights abuses in its north-western Xinjiang region targeting Uyghurs and other mainly Muslim ethnic minorities.
The report has been in the works for years and was released recently. The report claims that more than 1 million ethnic minority members were forcibly sent to re-education centers.

Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare virtually inaugurated the ‘Swasth Sabal Bharat’ Conclave.
The purpose of the conclave was to discuss the situation of body-organ-eye donation in India and find solutions to the challenges ahead. The Union Minister emphasized on ‘Jan Bhagidari’ or people’s movement to encourage people to donate their organs for humanity.
