Notes:
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has notified a framework introducing a Social Stock Exchange (SSE) in India.
The new category of exchange will provide social enterprises an additional avenue to raise funds. The SSE lists non-profit organisations (NPO) on stock exchanges and provides them with an alternative fund-raising avenue.

The Solomon Islands has decided to suspend the entry of all foreign navy ships into its ports, as per the announcement from the prime minister’s office.
The United States earlier alleged that only their navy vessels were not allowed to enter the ports of the Solomon Islands.  The Solomon Islands also has signed a security pact with China creating a strained relationship with the US and its allies.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot launched ‘Mahila Nidhi’, a loan scheme for the social and economic development of women through loans.
The scheme was launched on the occasion of Women’s Equality Day. Under the scheme, easy credit will be available to women for starting new businesses and expanding their business. In the state budget 2022-23, the government announced to set up ‘Mahila Nidhi’ through Rajasthan Rural Livelihood Development Council.

The Delhi Police has become the first police force in the country to make collection of forensic evidence mandatory in crimes punishable with a sentence of more than six years.
This has been done to increase conviction rate and to integrate the criminal justice system with forensic science investigation. Delhi Police has integrated the Criminal Justice System (ICJS) with forensic science investigation and collaborated with National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar to train its officers.

‘Nuakhai’, which means ‘new food’, is an agricultural festival observed by people of Odisha and Southern Chhattisgarh in India.
Nuakhai is observed to welcome the new rice of the season. It is also called as a ‘Harvest festival’ and is celebrated during the August-September season.

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced to build India’s first and one of the world’s largest Carbon Fibre plants at Hazira, Gujarat.
The plant will have a capacity of 20,000 MTPA based on Acrylonitrile feedstock. Ambani announced an investment of ₹75,000 crore over the next five years to expand capacities in existing and new value chains including Polyester value chain, Vinyl chain, and New Materials.

Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) launched the Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS) initiative in July 2022, with an outlay of more than Rs 750 crore.
Under the scheme, the central government will promote over 10,000 startups in the next five to six years. GENESIS is a National Deep-tech Startup Platform, to support and create successful startups in Tier-II and Tier-III cities of India.

‘Jigyasa for Renewable Fuel program’ under Jigyasa 2.0 program was successfully organized for the school students of Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior 2022 at CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun.
The main objective of the program is to give an exposure to different technologies developed for the utilization of non-edible vegetable oils, used cooking oil and waste plastic to different types of fuels.

The Telangana Government decided to observe September 17 as Telangana National Unity Day. The state will observe Telangana National Unity Diamond Jubilee Festival for three days.
The Centre has decided to mark Hyderabad State Liberation Day on September 17. The 75th anniversary of the event will be marked as a yearlong event. The inaugural event will be organised by the Union Ministry of Culture in Hyderabad and will be presided over by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres appointed a former president of Kyrgyzstan as his new special envoy for Afghanistan.
Roza Otunbayeva, who also served as foreign minister of Kyrgyzstan, replaces Deborah Lyons, who stepped down in June this year.
