The Solomon Islands has decided to suspend the entry of all foreign navy ships into its ports, as per the announcement from the prime minister’s office.
The United States earlier alleged that only their navy vessels were not allowed to enter the ports of the Solomon Islands.  The Solomon Islands also has signed a security pact with China creating a strained relationship with the US and its allies.

‘The Centre for Medical Skills for paramedical staff’ is set to come up at Babadam in West Garo Hills of Meghalaya.
The Meghalaya Cabinet approved the construction of Centre that will be built at the cost of Rs 152 crores. The Medical Skill Hunar Hub will have space for 2500 students with several facilities including hostel, Pharmaceutical College, Paramedical College and Skill Development Centre.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the ‘country’s first virtual school’ called the ‘Delhi Model Virtual School’, in which students from across India will be eligible for admission in classes 9 to 12.
DMVS will be affiliated to the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) and no fees will be charged from students. The classes will be conducted through an exclusive platform built by SchoolNet and Google.

As per the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau, the number of cybercrime incidents in 2021 has gone up by 18.4 per cent since 2019.
The number of such cases against women has risen at 28 per cent. Out of the 52,974 incidents reported in 2021, 20.2 per cent were reported as cases of crime against women. Karnataka had the highest share with 2,243 cases, followed by Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.

Alappuzha has become the fifth fully digital banking district in the State of Kerala. This was declared by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Kerala.
As part of the initiative, at least one digital transaction facility, such as debit-credit card, Internet banking, mobile banking, UPI etc, has been enabled in 26 lakh bank accounts in 29 banks in the district. Banking services in Thrissur, Kottayam, Palakkad and Kasaragod have already become digital.

‘Jigyasa for Renewable Fuel program’ under Jigyasa 2.0 program was successfully organized for the school students of Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Gwalior 2022 at CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun.
The main objective of the program is to give an exposure to different technologies developed for the utilization of non-edible vegetable oils, used cooking oil and waste plastic to different types of fuels.

The Reserve Bank of India will run the pilot projects for digitalisation of Kisan Credit Card (KCC) lending from this month in the select districts of Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
The project is being developed by the Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH). It aims to make KCC-based lending more efficient by reducing costs and turn-around time for borrowers, and improving credit flow to the rural population.

Notes:
Kurki is a process of attachment of a farmer’s land, pledged to the money lending institution or individual, in case of a loan default.
Kurki orders are executed under Section 60 of Civil Procedure Code, 1908. A 65-year-old farmer, from Punjab recently died by suicide against kurki orders for his land based on a court case filed against him by the local moneylender for defaulting on loan payment.

Tripura government has successfully set up five ‘Bio-Villages’ for promoting sustainable development, climate change mitigation and climate adaption.
As per the Compendium of Best Practice on Climate Action from Indian states, in Tripura, over 500 households have been benefited with the successful implementation in five ‘Bio-Villages’. The concept of ‘Bio-Village’ was introduced by the Directorate of Biotechnology, Tripura in 2018 for promoting organic farming.

IndusInd Bank announced a strategic partnership with Asian Development Bank (ADB) to support Supply Chain Finance (SCF) solutions in India.
The Bank has entered into a partial guarantee programme with ADB with an initial outlay of USD 70 million, exclusively towards promoting SCF solutions in India. The Bank recently launched a digital portal for SCF named ‘earlyCredit’.
