Norway’s Central bank- the Norges Bank released the open source code for the country’s central bank digital currency (CBDC) sandbox based on Ethereum technology.
The sandbox is designed to offer an interface to interact with the test network. It also has enabled functions like minting, burning, and transferring tokens. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), 97 countries, (more than half of the global central banks) are developing CBDCs.

Notes:
The world’s largest museum of Harappan culture is being constructed in Rakhigarhi. It is a village in Hisar district of Haryana, famous for its archaeological site from the Indus Valley civilisation period.
The world-class museum will display 5000-year-old Indus Valley artefacts. Rakhigarhi was part of the Indus Valley Civilisation from 2600-1900 BC. In the skeletons found in the village, shell bangles, copper mirror and semi-precious stone beads were found.

Notes:
India clinched the SAFF under-17 Championship title, defeating Nepal in the final in Colombo. With this victory, India retains the title, lifting the title for the fourth time.
India captain Vanlalpeka Guite was named the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, while 16-year-old Sahil Poonia won the Best Goalkeeper award.

The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, NCPCR has revamped its online portal E-Baal Nidan for redressal of grievances against violation of child rights.
NCPCR is an Indian statutory body working under the aegis of Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India.

The second edition of the international conference ANGAN 2022 (Augmenting Nature by Green Affordable New-habitat) was recently held on the title “Making the Zero-Carbon Transition in Buildings”.
ANGAN 2.0 is being organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Ministry of Power, in collaboration with Swiss Agency for Development & Cooperation (SDC) under the Indo-Swiss Building Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP). The Conference had discussions related to building energy efficiency and reducing carbon emission from buildings.

The US Agency for International Development and UNICEF launched the Doordarshan and YouTube series titled Door Se Namaste at function held in New Delhi.
Door Se Namaste is a new television series which promotes healthy behaviours in the post-pandemic world. It is a fictional Hindi series developed in an entertainment education format to promote the adoption of healthy behaviour and practices.

Switzerland’s Holcim has completed the sale process of Ambuja Cement and ACC (Ambuja’s subsidiary) to the Adani Group for USD 6.4 billion, making it the second largest player.
This is the largest ever acquisition by Adani, and the largest ever Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transaction in infrastructure and materials space in India. Ultratech Cement is India’s largest player with a market valuation of over ₹1.87 lakh crore.

Minister of Science & Technology Jitendra Singh presented INSPIRE awards to 60 startups and financial support to 53,021 students.
The award is instituted by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), and these innovators will be extended complete incubation support along their entrepreneurship journey. The annual INSPIRE Awards MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge) competition was launched during 2020-21.

The Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Rajeev Chandrasekhar, is set to inaugurate India’s first lithium cell manufacturing facility at Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh
The unit has been set up by Chennai-based Munoth Industries with an outlay of Rs 165 crore. At present, India imports 100 percent of its lithium-ion batteries primarily from China, South Korea, Vietnam and Hong Kong.

‘Typhoon Nanmadol’ is expected to make landfall in Japan. The country’s weather agency issued a rare warning about the powerful storm.
Nearly two million people in Japan have been asked to seek shelter before Typhoon Nanmadol. It is the first typhoon-linked special warning issued outside of the Okinawa region since the present system began in 2013.
