The Arunachal Pradesh cabinet has given its approval for the amendment of the Arunachal Pradesh State Industrial and Investment Policy 2020.
The cabinet also approved the constitution of the Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) as per the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) for three tiger reserves – Namdapha, Pakke and Kamlang.

The Reserve Bank of India has notified the amendment in Foreign Exchange Management (Debt Instruments) Regulations, 2019.
Under this amendment, Russia, along with 21 other countries, can now invest in dated Government Securities and Treasury Bills through a rupee account. Russia has been hit by its mounting surplus rupee problem.

Ashok Vaswani was appointed as the new Managing Director and chief executive officer (MD and CEO) of Kotak Mahindra Bank.
He currently serves as the president of Pagaya, a US-Israeli artificial intelligence fintech, as well as a Non-executive director of the London Stock Exchange Group.

Borneo, a giant island in Southeast Asia’s Malay Archipelago, is shared by two Malaysian states, Indonesian Kalimantan and the tiny nation of Brunei.
Scientists have made a remarkable discovery of an ancient tectonic plate known as the Pontus plate, which had vanished from the Earth’s surface at least 20 million years ago. Fragments of this crust were located in the South China Sea, near Borneo Island.

A five-year scientific estimation has revealed that Himachal Pradesh is home to 75 snow leopards, which is the highest in India. The estimation was conducted as part of the Snow Leopard Population Assessment in India.
In India, they are found in the Himalayan states of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, besides Himachal Pradesh. The highest densities of snow leopards were found in the trans-Himalayan regions of Spiti and Pin valley.

Three Basins Summit was hosted in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo to strengthen South-South governance for three ecosystems — Amazon, Congo, Borneo-Mekong and Southeast Asia.
Three Basins Threat Report, which was released during the Summit, highlighted the challenges faced by the world’s remaining tropical forest basins.

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has approved an indigenously developed AC and DC combined charging connector standard for light electric vehicles (LEVs) such as scooters, bikes, and rickshaws.
The new standard, ISI7017 (Part 2 / Sec 7): 2023, has been developed through collaboration among NITI Aayog, the Department of Science and Technology, electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy, and various other government and industry stakeholders.

Vodafone Idea’s business division, known as Vi Business, has introduced an IoT (Internet of Things) lab-as-a-service in collaboration with C-DOT (Centre for Development of Telematics).
This lab, known as the Vi C-DOT IoT lab, is designed to facilitate a wide range of testing scenarios, numbering over 175. These scenarios encompass network and functional testing, field testing, application testing, compatibility testing, and oneM2M standard testing, among others.

Recently, the Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu (IIT Jammu) has been selected to set up a 5G Use Case Lab under the “100 5G Use Case Labs” initiative backed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India.
This development represents a noteworthy achievement in the institute’s commitment to technological progress and creativity.

The Union government is set to release tenders for 3,000 electric buses as part of the PM eBus Sewa scheme, out of the total 10,000 buses planned.
This initiative, approved by the Cabinet in August, aims to integrate 10,000 electric buses into the public transportation systems of 169 eligible cities. The scheme will cover cities of 3 lakh and above population as per census 2011.
