Chinese astronauts are sometimes called taikonauts. The youngest-ever team of Chinese astronauts embarked on their journey to China’s space station.

In spite of being the country’s second least populated State, Mizoram exhibits the highest incidence rate of cancer in India.
The latest evidence from an 18-year trend study notes a consistent rise in cancer incidence and mortality in Mizoram, with stomach cancer emerging as the primary cause of cancer-related deaths among men, while lung cancer is the primary cause of deaths among women.

According to the initial advance estimates of major kharif crops for the 2023-24 season released by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare (MoA&W), India’s rice production is projected to be 1,063.13 lakh metric tonnes (LMT).
This represents a 3.7 percent decrease compared to the 1,105.12 LMT recorded during the same season the previous year.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited introduced JioSpaceFiber, India’s inaugural satellite-based gigabit broadband service.
The aim is to provide high-speed internet connectivity to remote regions of India that were previously underserved or inaccessible.

Recently, the Central government inaugurated the ‘Dark Patterns Buster Hackathon 2023,’ with the objective of creating an innovative application or software-based solution capable of identifying dark patterns on e-commerce platforms.
This hackathon is being conducted in partnership with the Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA) and IIT-(BHU).

Lok Sabha Ethics Committee has asked Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra to appear before it, in connection with the cash-for-query allegation.
The members of the Ethics Committee are appointed by the speaker for a period of one year.  At present, the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee is headed by the BJP MP Vinod Kumar Sonkar and has 15 members.
