The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has carried out searches at 76 sites across India in connection with Operation Chakra-2.
This operation involves the investigation of five distinct cases related to cyber-enabled financial frauds, including one case involving a cryptocurrency fraud amounting to Rs 100 crore. The CBI initiated these actions based on information provided by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), FBI, Interpol, and various other international agencies.

The Sir J.J. School of Art, Architecture, and Applied Arts in Mumbai, established in 1878 has received a de-novo deemed university status and will be known as Sir J.J. School of Art, Architecture, and Design.
The university will have five new departments and aims to become an institute of eminence. The state will hold 100% stake in the Sir J.J. School of Art, Architecture, and Design Foundation, which will fund the university.

At a Cairo summit hosted by Egypt, Arab leaders denounced the Israeli bombardment of Gaza, while European leaders emphasized the need to protect civilians.
Due to the absence of Israel and senior U.S. officials, there was no consensus reached on measures to contain the ongoing violence. The conflict has resulted in thousands of casualties and a humanitarian crisis in the Gaza enclave, home to 2.3 million people.

The Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations (1961) is a United Nations treaty that establishes shared principles and guidelines for the treatment of each other’s diplomatic envoys by countries, to promote amicable relations and upholding effective communication between nations.
In the midst of the current standoff between India and Canada, the Canadian government declared its withdrawal of 41 diplomats stationed in India, along with their families, thereby nullifying the provisions of the 1961 convention.

Researchers conducted a study on a 62-million-year-old lava flow located on Baffin Island in Canada’s Arctic Archipelago.
The study revealed that this lava contains exceptionally elevated levels of helium-3, a rare isotope linked to the Earth’s core.

‘Exercise Prasthan 2023’ was conducted by the Naval Officer-in-Charge, Andhra Pradesh, under the Eastern Naval Command, to ensure the security of offshore development areas in Kakinada.
The exercise involved multiple organizations, including the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, oil operators, port authorities, and state agencies. Various scenarios, such as terrorist attacks and oil spills, were simulated to test the efficacy of security mechanisms.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the country’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) NaMo Bharat.
The priority section of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Corridor was also inaugurated. The RRTS was earlier named RapidX train. RRTS is a new rail-based, semi-high-speed, high-frequency commuter transit system, with a design speed of 180 Kmph.

The European tax think tank, EU Tax Observatory, has recommended a global minimum tax of 2% on billionaires’ wealth, which could generate around $250 billion annually.
They also called for a strengthened global minimum tax on multinational companies, which could raise an additional $250 billion per year.

The National Cooperative Exports Limited (NCEL) is the recently established central body overseeing exports within the cooperative sector, under Ministry of Cooperation.
It has already secured orders amounting to Rs 7,000 crore. Union Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah also released the logo, website and brochure of NCEL.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported that a cyclone named Tej developed in the Arabian Sea, while deep depression in the Bay of Bengal caused another cyclone, named Hamoon.
India is witnessing twin cyclonic storms for the first time after 2018. The name for Cyclone Tej was given by India while Iran named Cyclone Hamoon which stands for marshlands in Persian language.
