Maharashtra’s youngest Grandmaster, 17-year-old Raunak Sadhwani emerged as the U-20 World Junior Rapid Chess champion in Italy.
He scored sole 8.5/11 and was also placed second in the Blitz Open event. Raunak earlier won 38th European Club Cup 2023 Open for Offerspill Sjakklubb along with Magnus Carlsen and Pranav Venkatesh.

As per the latest Economic Outlook Survey released by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), the Indian economy is expected to grow by 6.3 percent in the fiscal year 2023-24.
This projection comes with a range of growth estimates, with a minimum estimate of 6.0 percent and a maximum estimate of 6.6 percent.

Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, officially launched IndiaSkills 2023-24 and honored the winners of World Skills 2022. He called for increasing the number of participants to 2.5 million from 0.25 million last year,
IndiaSkills is the precursor to the WorldSkills, the largest skill competition in the world, held once every two years, conducted by WorldSkills International.

A global summit was hosted by China’s President Xi Jinping, to celebrate 10 years of his signature foreign and economic policy, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
Russian leader Vladimir Putin was given a grand welcome at the global summit in Beijing, as China and Russia deepen their solidarity. Putin was the guest of honour among leaders and officials from more than 130 countries.

The 24-year-old Indian chess grandmaster, Karthikeyan Murali, achieved a remarkable victory against the world’s top-ranked player, Magnus Carlsen.
This win, in the classical chess format during the ongoing Qatar Masters, stands as just the third instance in which an Indian player has emerged victorious against Carlsen.

An Israeli airstrike targeted a building near the historic Church of Saint Porphyrius in Gaza, which is part of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
The church suffered significant damage as a result of this strike. It is the oldest active church in the city as it was consecrated 1600 years ago, and is named after 5th century Saint Porphyrius, known for Christianizing the pagan city of Gaza.
