The Joe Biden administration in the United States has approved USD 7 billion program for development and production of hydrogen fuel.
His goal is to establish seven regional hydrogen hubs to help replace fossil fuels such as coal and oil with cleaner-burning hydrogen as an energy source for vehicles, manufacturing and generating electricity.

October 16 is observed as World Food Day every year. It is celebrated by organisations which are involved in alleviating hunger and improving food security.
The World Food Day was established in 1945 by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). For the year 2023, the theme of the World Food Day is – “Water is life, water is food. Leave no one behind”.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inaugurated the CM-ELEVATE Integrated event.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur announced that Hollywood’s veteran star Michael Douglas will be conferred with the prestigious Satyajit Ray Excellence in Film Lifetime Award at IFFI (International Film Festival of India) Goa 2023.
The International Film Festival of India 2023 will take place in Goa from November 20 to 28. The star last featured in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.

The Indian Army achieved a significant milestone by securing a gold medal at the 2023 Cambrian Patrol Competition, an international military exercise held in Wales, UK.
A team from the 3/5 Gorkha Rifles (Frontier Force) represented the Indian Army in this prestigious event. The competition involved 111 teams, completing a challenging 60 km course in less than 48 hours.

Former airline executive Christopher Luxon is set to become the next Prime Minister of New Zealand. His centre-right National Party in coalition with the right-wing ACT Party secured enough seats to form a new government in the general election. Luxon has emerged as a leader amid the cost of living crisis and three-decade high inflation in New Zealand.

Qatar Airways has signed an agreement with SpaceX to make Starlink WiFi available to every passenger in the sky at no cost.
The deal positions Qatar Airways as the biggest airline partner to Elon Musk’s Starlink. With this partnership, passengers can expect true broadband rates of 350 Mbps per person or device.

An artificial intelligence (AI) bot has successfully accomplished the entire process of identifying a supernova, from searching for it, detecting it, confirming its presence, classifying it, and announcing the findings, all without any human involvement.
This AI tool, known as the Bright Transient Survey Bot (BTSbot), was developed by an international team of scientists led by Northwestern University.

‘Guidance’, the nodal agency for investment promotion of Tamil Nadu, has received the United Nations Promotion Award 2023.
It was awarded for Excellence in Scaling Up Energy Transition Investments at the 8th World Investment Forum held at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
