Varanasi-based Utkarsh Small Finance Bank has received approval form the Market regulator SEBI for its initial public offering (IPO).
The Small Finance Bank (SFB) plans to raise about ₹500 crore from the public offer. The SFB is promoted by Utkarsh CoreInvest Limited, which commenced its operations as an NBFC in the year 2010.

Two beaches from Lakshadweep Minicoy Thundi Beach and Kadmat Beach were added to the list of ‘Blue Beaches’.
It is an eco-label given to the cleanest beaches in the world by the Foundation for Environment Education (FEE). With this, India now has 12 beaches certified under the Blue Flag Certification. Spain with 729 sites tops the list of countries with Blue Flag awarded sites.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that the Upper Bhadra scheme will become the state’s first national project.
The Union Jal Shakti Minister has been requested to get it passed in the Union Cabinet. After the approval, the grants will be provided to start the work.

The United States is set to retrieve its older HAWK air defence equipment to send to Ukraine which is facing a heavy attack from Russian drone-fired and cruise missiles.
HAWK, short for ‘Homing All the Way Killer,’ entered service with the US Army in 1959, during the Vietnam war. The HAWK interceptor missiles would be an upgrade to the Stinger missile system. The US sent the shoulder-fired anti-aircraft Stingers to Ukraine early in the war.

NASA’s Dragonfly rotorcraft is scheduled to reach the Selk Crater region on Saturn’s moon Titan in the year 2034.
Cassini spacecraft has sent some radar images of the area during its 13 years of exploring the Saturn system. Dragonfly is also the first flying machine for a world in the outer solar system.

The News Broadcasting and Digital Standards Authority (NBDSA) is a self-regulatory agency set up by news and digital broadcasters in India.
The agency has fined a Hindi TV channel for turning a news debate on hijab into a ‘communal issue’ and not adhering to guidelines. The NBDSA is an independent body set up by the News Broadcasters and Digital Association (NBDA), which serves as a representative of private television news, current affairs, and digital broadcasters.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) slashed India’s economic growth estimate for FY23 to 6.8% from its July estimate of 7.4%, as per its Regional Economic Outlook.
The organisation cited the impact of external headwinds and weaker-than-expected second-quarter growth. As per the report, a slowdown of India’s growth to 6.1% is expected in FY24 due to external demand and tightening in monetary and financial conditions.

Lebanon and Israel signed copies of a US-mediated sea border deal and delivered them to the UN in the coastal border town of Naqoura in Lebanon.
The two nations have formally been at war since Israel’s creation in 1948 and this deal would mark a breakthrough in relations between the two nations. After months of indirect talks mediated by US envoy for energy affairs, the agreement to demarcate the maritime border was signed.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology notified the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Amendment Rules, 2022.
As per the amendment, one or more Grievance Appellate Committees will be established, which will comprise a chairperson and two whole-time members appointed by the central government. The centrally appointed appellate panels would be set up in three months to resolve social media users’ grievances.
