In Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the three-week-long cultural festival ‘Jashn-e-Kashmir’- New Kashmir New Hope at Srinagar.
The Cultural Festival is being organized by All J&K Folk Artists Association, Shah Qalander Folk Theatre, in collaboration with J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages and the Office of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir. It aims to celebrate tradition, culture and heritage of the region.

President Droupadi Murmu is set to present the Silver Trumpet and Trumpet Banner to the President’s Bodyguard.
As the PBG is the President of India’s own troop, it possesses the distinction of being the only military unit of the Indian Army privileged to carry the President’s Silver Trumpet and Trumpet Banner.

The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) researchers have studied the interactions between microbes in the International Space Station (ISS).
One of the key findings is a microbe that resides on the ISS, was found to be beneficial to various other microorganisms but hampered the growth of Aspergillus fungus.

The Union government is set to enhance the legal powers for the Competition Commission of India (CCI), making it ready to be merged with the National Anti-profiteering Authority, whose term ends in November.
CCI regulates the behaviour of businesses and monitors actions that may stifle competition by way of anti-competitive agreements or the abuse of dominance. NAA investigates cases across industries including cement, steel, tyre, shipping and digital economy.

Dr Shefali Juneja was named the chairperson of the Air Transport Committee (ATC) of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
India will chair the committee after 28 years and India has chaired the ATC only twice so far. The ATC is a specialized agency of the United Nations and an advisory body of the Council on air transport matters.

The Union Ministry of Telecommunication unveiled new policy reforms for satellite communications services.
It aims to ease procedures and streamline clearances to fast-track the rollout of Satcom across the country, especially in remote areas. Union Telecom Minister said that the current pace of tower deployment needs to increase from 2,500 towers a week to 10,000 towers per week.

NASA’s Dragonfly rotorcraft is scheduled to reach the Selk Crater region on Saturn’s moon Titan in the year 2034.
Cassini spacecraft has sent some radar images of the area during its 13 years of exploring the Saturn system. Dragonfly is also the first flying machine for a world in the outer solar system.

About 27 tigers in the sugarcane fields in the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) in Uttar Pradesh, will now be relocated to the newly-notified Ranipur Tiger Reserve (RTR).
Ranipur Tiger Reserve (RTR), the fourth in Uttar Pradesh, does not have any population of resident tigers at present.

Lebanon and Israel signed copies of a US-mediated sea border deal and delivered them to the UN in the coastal border town of Naqoura in Lebanon.
The two nations have formally been at war since Israel’s creation in 1948 and this deal would mark a breakthrough in relations between the two nations. After months of indirect talks mediated by US envoy for energy affairs, the agreement to demarcate the maritime border was signed.

Election Commission of India has hosted a two-day international conference on the theme ‘Role, Framework and Capacity of Election Management Bodies’ at New Delhi.
The ECI leads the Cohort on ‘Election Integrity’ which was established as a follow on to the ‘Summit for Democracy’, an initiative of US President which was hosted in December, 2021.
