The ‘World Day for Audiovisual Heritage’ is celebrated every year on October 27. This day was chosen by UNESCO in 2005 to raise awareness of preservation risks of recorded sound and audio-visual documents
The 2022 World Day for Audiovisual Heritage will be celebrated in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the Memory of the World Programme. The celebration will take place under the theme “Enlisting documentary heritage to promote inclusive, just and peaceful societies”.

The Chief Ministers of eight states and home ministers and deputy chief ministers of 16 states participated in the two-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ (brainstorming session) on internal security.
The session is chaired by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Chintan Shivir’ of Home Ministers of States via video conferencing. The aim of the session is to prepare an action plan to implement ‘Vision 2047’ and ‘Panch Pran’.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced equal match fee for both men and women cricket players of India.
As per new rules, the payment for Tests will be 15 lakh rupees, 6 lakh rupees for ODIs, and 3 lakh rupees for T-20. This is regarded as BCCI’s first step towards tackling gender- discrimination.

The Gujarat government has achieved 100% tap water connections in rural areas under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The Mission, which was launched by Prime Minister Modi in 2019, targets to make available 55 litres of water per person every day to each rural household through household tap connections by 2024. Haryana, Goa, Telangana, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Puducherry, Andaman, and Nicobar Island have already achieved 100 per cent tap water in households.

Shiprocket, a shipping and logistics solutions provider has completed its first successful transaction after coming online on the government’s Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
Shiprocket is the first inter-city logistics company to connect to the ONDC network. It is now possible for vendors from all market segments to transport goods to towns and cities all over India.

Indian and the US Defence Forces will conduct the battalion-level ‘Yudh Abhyas’ exercise between = at Auli in Uttarakhand, 100 km from the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Before this, the member countries of the ‘QUAD’ association will conduct the Malabar exercise off Yokosuka in Japan. The ‘Quad’ includes the US, Japan, Australia and India. Around 350 soldiers from each country will take part in the military exercise.

India’s Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya participated in the second G20 Health Ministers Meet in Bali, Indonesia.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the progress and way forward on priorities in the healthcare sector. The members also discussed on building global health resilience and the Financial Intermediary Fund.

India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar announced that India will contribute USD 500,000 to the United Nations Trust Fund for Counter Terrorism (UNOCT) this year.
This aims to aid capacity-building support to member states in combating terrorism. Representatives from all 15 member nations of the UN Security Council attended the meeting, hosted by India in New Delhi and Mumbai.

The first edition of the India-Mozambique-Tanzania Trilateral Exercise has recently commenced at Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
Indian Navy is represented by the guided missile frigate, INS Tarkash, a Chetak helicopter and MARCOS (Special Forces). The exercise has three objectives: capability development to address common threats through training and sharing of best practices, enhancing interoperability, and strengthening maritime cooperation.

Union Rural Development Ministry organises the ‘SARAS Food festival’. Recently the Rural Development Minister inaugurated the ‘Saras Food Festival, 2022 in New Delhi.
The Minister also launched the e-commerce portal www.esaras.in for better marketing of Saras products prepared by women of self-help groups. Ministry of Rural Development is establishing Saras stalls by women SHGs in all State capitals, major cities and metros, airports and railway stations.
