The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) grants certificate of registration to the Credit information companies (CICs) in India.
Recently, the RBI in its ‘Statement of Developmental and Regulatory Policies’, has called for which type of companies to appoint an internal ombudsman by April 1, 2023. This step aims to strengthen and improve the efficiency of the internal grievance redressal mechanisms.

Union Home Ministry has announced Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for the Pahari community in Jammu and Kashmir.
Home Minister Amit Shah announced that Justice GD Sharma Commission has recommended reservation for Paharis in the report submitted to the government. The people are classified into two main groups Speakers of Western Pahari set of languages and Speakers of Lahnda.

The Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM) invited bids for selling the stakes in IDBI Bank to facilitate its privatisation.
The potential investor should have a minimum net worth of Rs 22,500 crore and must report net profit in three out of the past five years. The government and LIC hold 94.72 per cent stake in IDBI Bank. After sale, the combined shareholding of LIC and Government will come down to 34 per cent.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regulates credit rating agencies and their functioning.
Recently, SEBI has ordered credit rating agency Brickwork Ratings India to wind up its operations within six months. It has barred the agency from taking on any fresh clients or business. Several violations of the provisions of CRA Regulations and SEBI Circulars were found during the RBI-SEBI inspection.

Indian Air Force was raised on October 8, 1932. This year, the Air Force is celebrating its 90^th raising day on October 8, 2022.
This year, the Air Force Day flypast is scheduled to take place over Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh. For the first time, the parade and fly-past of Air Force day have been moved out of the national capital region.

The Union Government has appointed a commission to consider the possibility of granting SC status to the persons who have historically belonged to the Scheduled Castes but have converted to religions other than Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism.
The three-member Commission is headed by former Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan. The Cimmission has been asked to submit report in two years.

‘World Mental Health Day’ is marked every year on October 10 to raise awareness about mental health around the world.
Every year since 2013, the World Health Organization (WHO) has organized a global campaign for World Mental Health Day. The theme for World Mental Health Day 2022 is ‘Make mental health for all a global priority’.

Veteran Uttar Pradesh politician Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party, passed away at the age of 82.
He served as the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh thrice – from 1989 to 1991, from 1993 to 1995, and from 2003 to 2007. He ha d also served as the Union defence minister under the United Front government from 1996 to 1998.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari launched Toyota’s first of its kind pilot project on Flexi-Fuel Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles (FFV-SHEV) in India.
The vehicles are said to run on 100 per cent petrol as well as 20 to 100 per cent blended ethanol and electric power.

The seventh edition of IBSAMAR, a joint multinational maritime exercise is to be conducted among Indian, Brazilian and South African Navies in South Africa.
The Indian Navy is represented by the Teg class guided missile frigate, INS Tarkash, a Chetak helicopter and the personnel from the Marine Commando Force (MARCOS). The previous edition of IBSAMAR (IBSAMAR VI) was conducted off Simons Town, South Africa in 2018.
