Scientists on the Nekton Maldives Mission have discovered evidence of ‘The Trapping Zone’. It has been described as ‘an oasis of oceanic life’, 500 metres below the surface.
As per the country’s president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, the discovery of ‘The Trapping Zone’ and the oasis of life surrounding the Maldives provides with new knowledge that will support fisheries and tourism.

The Cabinet has approved 22,000 crore rupees as one time grant to Public Sector Undertakings, Oil Marketing Companies for losses in Domestic LPG.
Since the prices of LPG have risen globally up to 300 per cent, this grant will held the companied to ensure unhindered domestic LPG supplies. The compensation will be given to the three companies – Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation.

‘World Economic Outlook’ is the flagship report of the International Monetary Fund.  In its 2022 edition update, IMF has projected that global growth will slow from 6 percent in 2021 to 3.2 percent in 2022 and 2.7 percent in 2023.
IMF also said that this will be the weakest growth since 2001, except for the global financial crisis and the acute phase of the pandemic. IMF also said that India will be the fastest-growing large economy in the world, after it cut India’s GDP growth forecast to 6.8 percent for FY 2023.

The country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI), has unveiled its ‘Next-gen Contact Center’ for personalised customer experience.
The revamped Contact Centre will provide over 30 banking solutions in 12 languages and will be available 24×7 from home. The bank has also introduced 4-digit toll-free numbers to simplify the process.

Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) in collaboration with Power-CSIRTs (Computer Security Incident Response Teams in Power sector), conducted the Cyber Security Exercise ‘PowerEX’ for Power Sector Utilities
The Objective of the exercise was to ‘Recognize, Analyse & Respond to Cyber Incident in IT & OT Systems’ while the theme of the exercise was ‘Defending Cyber induced disruption in IT & OT infrastructure’.

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Tripura Judicial Academy and laid the foundation stone of the National Law University, Tripura.
The President also flagged off the railway extension of the Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati train up to Agartala from Agartala Railway Station.

Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has been appointed as the chairperson of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Chemical & Fertilizers as notified by Lok Sabha Secretariat. He was earlier chairing the panel on Information & Technology.

The 6th Summit of Conference of Interaction & Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) held at Astana, Kazakhstan. The minister of state for External affairs Meenakshi Lekhi lead the Indian delegation at the conference. CICA is a body that works towards building peace, security & stability in Asia. It was established in 1992 by the, first president of Kazakhstan at the 47th session of UNGA.

President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated two passengers train, one of which is going to connect Tripura and Manipur for the first time. Jan Shatabdi express will connect Tripura’s capital Agartala & Khongsang in Manipur, and the other passenger train will link Agartala and Kolkata via Guwahati.
