The Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is the permanent body of the SCO RATS based in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. It was in news because meeting of the Council of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (RATS SCO) was held in New Delhi on October 14, 2022. A decision was taken by the member states to counter the challenges and threats posed by different international terrorist groups from the territory of Afghanistan.

India’s Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil scored a sensational come-from-behind victory in the men’s 10m Air rifle final, beating Italy’s Danilo Sollazzo 17-13 in a shootout, to win the gold medal at the ongoing World Championships in Cairo on October 14, 2022. India’s last World Champion in the men’s air rifle was Abhinav Bindra at Zagreb in 2006.

The Global Hunger Index scores are based on four indicators — Undernourishment, Child Stunting, Child Wasting and Child Mortality. China and Kuwait are the Asian countries that has ranked at the top of the list. South Asian region has the highest hunger level, highest child stunting rate and highest child wasting rate in the world. 17 countries have been collectively ranked between 1 and 17 with a score of less than 5. Yemen is at the last position in the Global Hunger Index 2022 in the world.

In the next few months, NewSpace India Ltd (NSIL) will launch at least six commercial missions. OneWeb is a London-based global communications network. Bharti Global is a major investor in OneWeb. Currently, India has three operational launch vehicles – the PSLV, GSLV, and GSLV Mk III.

According to LRS, which was introduced in 2004, all resident individuals, including minors, are allowed to freely remit up to $250,000 per financial year for any permissible current or capital account transaction or a combination of both. Initially, the scheme was introduced with a limit of $25,000. The LRS limit has been revised in stages consistent with prevailing macro and micro economic conditions.

Goalball is a Paralympic sport, it is specially designed for blind people of a certain age. Goalball Federation of India held Goalball nationals at Maharishi Dayanand University in Rohtak recently. In the finals, Maharashtra beat Uttarakhand.

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated India’s First Aluminum Freight Rake (61 BOBRNALHSM1) at Bhubaneswar Railway Station.
It has been fully designed and developed indigenously in collaboration with RDSO, HINDALCO and Besco Wagon. Introduction of Aluminum wagons will result in less import of Nickel and Cadmium as well as good for local aluminum industry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 10th Heads of Missions Conference at Kevadia. It is being organized by the Ministry of External Affairs.
The Prime Minister launched Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for the Environment) in Kevadiya in the presence of UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres. The Prime Minister also launched Mission Schools of Excellence at Trimandir, Adalaj, Gujarat.

Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated Asia’s largest Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant in Lehragaga, Sangrur, Punjab.
The CBG Plant at Sangrur was inaugurated with an FDI investment of Rs. 220 crores by Verbio AG, one of the top bioenergy companies in Germany. It is spread out across around 20 acres and currently produces about 6 Tons Per Day (TPD) of CBG.
