Gujarat National Maritime Heritage Complex is located at Lothal, Gujarat. Lothal was one of the prominent cities of the Harappan civilization and is known for the discovery of the oldest man-made dockyard. A maritime heritage complex in Lothal is fitting tribute to the city’s historical legacy and heritage. National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at Lothal is being developed as a one of its kind project to not only display India’s rich and diverse maritime heritage and also help Lothal to emerge as a world class international tourist destination. The boost to the tourism potential through this project will also augment the economic development of the region.

Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affaris Shri Pralhad Joshi urged the public sector undertakings (PSUs) to compete with the private sector in coal mine auction and early production. Addressing the National Coal Conclave & Exhibition-2022,  the minister pointed out that despite unprecedented increase in international prices, Coal India Ltd (CIL) did not increase domestic coal price and stepped up coal proudction substantially in the recent past and managed to overcome coal shortage faced by thermal power plants.

Controller General of Accounts (CGA) is ‘the Principal Advisor’ on Accounting matters to the Union Government. CGA is responsible for establishing and managing a technically sound Management Accounting System and preparation & submission of the accounts of the Union Government. CGA is also responsible for exchequer control and internal audits for central Government.

Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar announced number of initiatives at Agri Startup Conference in New Delhi.
He announced creating fund of Rs 500 crore as accelerator program for Startups working in agriculture sector, for commercialisation and democratisation of innovations. He also announced that a network will be set up under the Agriculture Ministry to support the Agri Startups and a steering committee will be set under the Chairmanship of Agriculture Minister for overall planning.

Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan launched the draft of National Credit Framework (NCrF) for public consultation.
NCrF will integrate the credits earned through school education, higher education and vocational and skill education by encompassing the National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF), National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) and National School Education Qualification Framework (NSEQF).

India ranks third in the world’s first-ever global research on the rise of centi-millionaires, according to a new survey by advisory firm Henley & Partners.
Centi-millionaires are individuals with assets worth more than Rs. 830 crore (USD 100 million). India has 1,132 of the world’s 25,490 centi-millionaires, as it outnumbers countries such as the UK, Russia, and Switzerland. USA and China are in the first two places.

India test-fired indigenously developed new generation medium-range ballistic missile ‘Agni Prime’ (Agni-P) from the Odisha coast.
As per the Defence Research and Development Organisation, Agni Prime is a new generation advanced variant of the Agni class of missiles with range capability between 1,000 and 2,000km.

Zosterops paruhbesar or the Wangi-wangi white-eye Bird, which was recently discovered has been recommended the ‘Endangered’ IUCN status.
The bird is distinct both morphologically and genetically from other members of the Zosterops genus. The new species is restricted to Wangi-wangi, a single island in the Wakatobi Archipelago, Indonesia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stone of various connectivity projects at Mana village of Chamoli district in the state of Uttarakhand.
The two road widening projects including one from Mana to Mana Pass, shall provide last-mile all-weather road connectivity to our border areas. The ropeways, which are being developed in the state, provide environment-friendly mode of transport.
