The third World Kuchipudi Natyotsavam was organized for three days in Vijayawada. The World Kuchipudi Natyotsavam starts on 14th October 2022. The Kuchipudi dance festival is being organized in commemoration of the 93rd birth anniversary of world-renowned Kuchipudi dance artist Vempati China Satyam.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research has developed Pusa Decomposer, a microbial consortium of fungal species for rapid decomposition of paddy straw. Use of this consortium accelerates process of paddy straw decomposition in the field itself. In the year 2021, the decomposer has been used by the States of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and NCT of Delhi in an around 5.7 lakh hectare area and through satellite imaging and monitoring, it was observed that 92% area of the decomposer spread plots was not burnt. However, as reported in some of the newspaper articles, no adverse impact of use of bio-decomposer was noticed in these States.

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated India’s First Aluminum Freight Rake (61 BOBRNALHSM1) at Bhubaneswar Railway Station.
It has been fully designed and developed indigenously in collaboration with RDSO, HINDALCO and Besco Wagon. Introduction of Aluminum wagons will result in less import of Nickel and Cadmium as well as good for local aluminum industry.

Indian Embassy in Seoul, South Korea has recently organized its annual flagship cultural program ‘SARANG’.
Through this festival, the cultural diversity of India is showcased through various art forms including dance, drama, music, films and cuisine to the people of Korea. It aims to promote understanding and friendship among the people of two countries and improve bilateral relations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled HTT-40, an indigenous trainer aircraft designed and developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
It was launched at the India Pavilion during 12th DefExpo in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It comprises of over 60 per cent in-house parts with collaboration of private industry.

Mallikarjun Kharge has been elected as the first non-Gandhi President of the Indian National Congress (INC) party in 24 years.
In the Congress presidential election, he defeated another candidate Shashi Tharoor by securing 7,897 votes out of the 9,385 votes.

The ‘World Osteoporosis Day’ is observed every year on October 20. The day is observed with the aim of raising global awareness about prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease.
The theme for World Osteoporosis Day 2022 is Step Up For Bone Health. Osteoporotic fractures affect around 10 million Indians each year, both males and females.

Penguin Tazuni has been unveiled as the official mascot of next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The design is based on the Eudyptula minor species found in both host countries, and the name combines the Tasman Sea and the word ‘Unity’. Tazuni is a 15-year-old midfielder whose story involves her falling in love with football after playing with a group of children on a beach.

Global Iodine Deficiency Disorders (IDD) Prevention Day or World Iodine Deficiency Day is observed every year on 21st October.
Iodine is an essential micronutrient required for normal thyroid function, growth, and development. Iodine deficiency can lead to a variety of health and developmental consequences known as iodine deficiency disorders (IDDs). Iodine deficiency is a major cause of preventable mental retardation.
