Clean Andhra Pradesh (CLAP), is an initiative of the Andhra Pradesh government launched by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Gandhi Jayanti. It aims to make the state clean with public participation.
Under the Clean Andhra Pradesh (CLAP) mission, over 4000 garbage collecting vehicles will be deployed across 13 districts in the state. The state government will distribute 3 colour coded dustbins (Red, Green and Blue) to all 40 lakh households. People ought to use them for waste disposal after segregating the waste.

India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) is set to conduct the 40th edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from November 14 to 27.
The fair is to be conducted with the theme of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” with a focus on economy, export potential, infrastructure supply chain, demand and vibrant demography. The event is organised as a part of “AzadiKaAmritMahotsav”.

The ‘World Animal Day’ is observed every year on October 4, the feast day of Francis of Assisi, who is regarded as the patron saint of animals.
The day was celebrated for the first time in the year 1925 by cynologist Heinrich Zimmermann to address the plight of animals and begin work towards their protection — both in the wild and domestic world. World Animal Day was started globally during a world protection organisation conference in Florence, Italy in 1931.

Jim Corbett National Park is a world-renowned tiger reserve in Uttarakhand. It was seen in the news recently, Union Minister of State for Forest and Environment Ashwini Kumar Choubey announced that it may be renamed as Ramganga National Park in the future.
It is India’s first national park which is spread over an area of about 521 km. It’s known for its Bengal tigers, leopards and wild elephants.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI)’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) kept the key lending rate — repo rate unchanged at 4 per cent for the eighth time in a row.
Reverse repo rate remained unchanged at 3.5 per cent. The policy stance will also kept unchanged at ‘accommodative’. The accommodative stance is voted for, as long as necessary to sustain growth on a durable basis, while ensuring that inflation remains within the target. RBI also retained FY22 GDP growth forecast at 9.5 per cent.

The two-day Online Meeting of Range countries began to strengthen the conservation actions for migratory birds and their habitats in the Central Asian Flyway.
Central Asian Flyway (CAF) covers a large area of Eurasia between the Arctic and Indian Oceans. This area comprises several important migration routes of birds. There are 30 countries under the Central Asian Flyway, including India. India organised two-day online meeting on 6th -7th October 2021 with CAF Range Countries.

NASA’s Deep Space Atomic Clock, has successfully ended its mission. The clock was built by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in southern California.
The Deep Space Atomic Clock is an ultra-precise, mercury-ion atomic clock. It was launched aboard the Department of Defense Space Test Programme 2 mission on June 25, 2019. After the instrument completed its one-year primary mission in Earth orbit, NASA extended the mission to collect more data.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development have released the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index for the year 2021, under the tag line “Unmasking disparities by ethnicity, caste and gender”.
The index measures poverty by considering various deprivations experienced by people across the globe. The 2021 report has stressed that Disparities in poverty among ethnic groups are very high in many countries.

Australian Square Kilometre Array Pathfinder, known as ASKAP, is a radio telescope situated at the Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory in Australia. It is run by Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australian Government agency.
Recently, using this telescope, Astronomers have discovered unusual signals coming from the direction of the Milky Way’s center. This new signal had very high polarisation and varying brightness. It was named as ‘ASKAP J173608.2-321635’.

Notes:
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has kept India’s growth forecast for 2021-22 unchanged at 9.5%, in its latest World Economic Outlook report.It also projected India’s economy to grow 8.5% in FY23.
In July, IMF had slashed India’s growth forecast for FY22 to 9.5% from earlier projection of 12.5%. It has lowered the global growth projection marginally to 5.9% from 6% earlier. Supply disruptions in advanced economies and worsening pandemic impact in developing countries are the reasons.
