The Global Financial Stability Report is a semi-annual publication by the International Monetary Fund, which gives detailed review on the stability of global financial markets.
In the recent Global Financial Stability Report, the IMF has dedicated an exclusive chapter to cryptocurrency. Under it, IMF mentions that rapid growth of the crypto ecosystem presents new opportunities at the same time, it has cautioned about the financial stability challenges.

Notes:
Indian shooter Manu Bhaker is an ace Indian shooter. She is in news recently since she has made a  top podium finish in the ISSF Junior World Championship held at Lime, Peru. She won Gold in individual pistol event as well as in a mixed team pistol with Sarabjot Singh.
Her contribution helped India to rise to the top of the medal tally at the championship.

Notes:
The Armies of India and Sri Lanka are set to participate in the 12-day military exercise – “Mitra Shakti”, which would be held in Combat Training School in Sri Lanka’s Ampara. This is the 8th edition of the joint military exercise between the two countries.
India would be represented by a contingent of 120 personnel. This exercise is aimed to promote close coordination and interoperability among the two military forces.

The Dubai Expo 2020, the world’s biggest trade and commerce exhibition would run for a period of 6 months from 1 October to 31 March 2022. This World Expo hosted by Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has the theme, ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’.
In the Expo, India has 1 lakh square feet pavilion which showcases India’s emerging sectors, achievements of ministries and states. One floor of the India pavilion is devoted to India’s art, dance, and culture. The pavilion was constructed by state-run NBCC and FICCI decided the content to display.

‘Credit Guarantee Scheme for Subordinate Debt’ was launched on 24th June, 2020 to provide credit facility to the promoters of stressed MSMEs, through lending institutions. SMA-2 and NPA accounts who are eligible for restructuring as per RBI guidelines are the beneficiaries.
The Government had earlier decided to extend this scheme for six months from 31.03.2021 to 30.09.2021. Now it has been further extended till 31.03.2022.

PM Nair – a stressed assets expert from State Bank of India is the MD of National Asset Reconstruction Company Ltd, which has recently received the approval of the Reserve Bank of India to commence its operations.
The decision to constitute the “Bad Bank” / NARCL to clean the books of PSU was declared in the Union Budget 2021-22.

ICMR’s initiative for ‘drone-based vaccine delivery system’ in North-Eastern India was launched recently. A “Made in India” drone was deployed in Manipur to transport Covid-19 vaccines for an aerial distance of 15 km from Bishnupur district hospital to the Loktak lake, Karang island.
This is the first time a Made in India drone was deployed for vaccine transportation. This makes India the first nation in Southeast Asia to send vaccines in an unmanned aerial craft.

Gujarat Legislative Assembly has unanimously revoked the Gujarat Private Universities (Second Amendment) Bill 2021.
Four months ago, the state government had passed an ordinance allowing grant-in-aid colleges to affiliate with private universities. It amended the 2009 Act, deleting the clause exempting the grant-in-aid colleges and institutions from affiliating to universities established by their sponsoring bodies. This allowed grant-in-aid colleges to switch affiliations from state-run universities to private ones.

The “SVAMITVA” stands for “Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas” is a Central Sector Scheme of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj. Under the scheme, clear ownership of property in rural inhabited areas is established by mapping land parcels using Drones.
Recently, the Prime Minister distributed e-property cards to over 1,71,000 beneficiaries of Madhya Pradesh under the scheme.

Notes:
The Ministry of Women and Child Development has issued the detailed guidelines for PM CARES for Children Scheme.
The aim of the scheme is to ensure protection of children who have lost their parent(s) to COVID pandemic. The scheme is expected to continue till the year when every identified beneficiary shall turn 23 years of age.
