‘Credit Guarantee Scheme for Subordinate Debt’ was launched on 24th June, 2020 to provide credit facility to the promoters of stressed MSMEs, through lending institutions. SMA-2 and NPA accounts who are eligible for restructuring as per RBI guidelines are the beneficiaries.
The Government had earlier decided to extend this scheme for six months from 31.03.2021 to 30.09.2021. Now it has been further extended till 31.03.2022.

FC Goa claimed their maiden Durand Cup football tournament title after a 1-0 win over Mohammedan SC in the fnal clash in Kolkata.
Captain Eduardo Bedia scored the important goal in the 105th minute after the final match went into the extra time. The Durand Cup also marked FC Goa coach Juan Ferrando Fenoll’s first-ever trophy in India.

The Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi has inaugurated the “Azadi@75 – New Urban India” – an urban conclave cum expo at Lucknow.
During the inaugural event, the PM handed over digitally the keys of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) houses to 75,000 beneficiaries located in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Global ratings agency Moody’s recently changed India’s sovereign rating outlook from ‘negative’ to ‘stable’.
It highlighted that India’s downside risks from negative feedback between real economy and financial system are disappearing. The agency also affirmed the country’s foreign-currency and local-currency long-term issuer ratings at Baa3.

“River ranching programme” designed as a special activity under the PM Matsya Sampada Yojana under the Union Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying aims to augment and enhance fish production.
The programme has been launched by the Union Minister Shri Parshottam Rupala at Brijghat, Garh Mukteshwar, Uttar Pradesh.

October 9th of every year is observed in India as the Indian Foreign Services Day (IFS Day). It was on this date in 1946, the Indian Foreign Service was established for the purpose of India’s diplomatic and commercial representation in overseas nations.
This day is being observed since 2011 to recognize the important role played by IFS officers.

Bullish trader Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-backed new airline named ‘Akasa Air’ has got no objection certificate (NOC) from the government to operate in India.
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is often referred to as the Warren Buffett of India or the Big Bull. His stock moves and investment strategies are closely tracked by investors. He manages his own portfolio as a partner in his asset management firm, Rare Enterprises.

As per the government’s new rules, the gestational limit for termination of a pregnancy in India has been increased to 24 weeks. Earlier the limit was 20 weeks.
Under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Rules, 2021, the women including survivors of sexual assault, rape or incest, minors, those whose marital status changes during pregnancy (widowhood and divorce) and those with physical disabilities are included for the new limit.

Jaishankar arrived in Armenia on the last leg of his three-nation tour to Central Asia. This is also the first-ever visit by an External Affairs Minister to Armenia.
He proposed that the strategic Chabahar Port in Iran be included in the North-South Transport Corridor, to enhance the connectivity. The Minister’s tour is aimed at further expanding bilateral ties and discussing regional issues including the developments in Afghanistan.

The Government of Mizoram has launched a 10-day campaign named “All Mask” to re-sensitise citizens on the importance of wearing masks to combat the virus. This is being observed throughout the state.
This comes at the backdrop of 1000 new Covid-19 cases being reported in the state daily, for more than a month continuously.
