The Sports Authority of India has approved the national coaching camp for Table Tennis, which is to be held from 28th October to 8th December.
The camp with 5 male and 6 female players and support staff will be organised by the Table Tennis Federation of India at the Delhi Public School, Sonepat. The camp was sanctioned at a total cost of Rs. 18 Lakhs.

Notes:
The Finance Ministry has approved guidelines for a scheme to grant ex-gratia payment of the difference between compound interest and simple interest for six months of loans up to Rs 2 crore.
The scheme can be availed by borrowers in specified loan accounts for a period from March 1 to August 31, 2020. Earlier, the Supreme Court directed the Centre to implement the interest waiver as soon as possible.

A fast-moving cyclone named Molave has hit the southern provinces of the Philippines. It has resulted in heavy flood in rural villages of the country.
The typhoon was blowing towards the South China Sea with sustained winds of 125 kilometres per hour. Nearly 25,000 villagers were displaced from the villages taking shelters in schools and Government buildings.

The Indian Army would hold a 4-day commanders’ conference from October 26th to 29th, 2020.
During the conference, all strategic and human resource issues would be discussed. It is an ape biannual event that is held for policy formulation and decision making. The Union Defence Minister would deliver the inaugural address.

The Government of Bangladesh has adopted the “No Mask, No Service” policy in order to contain the spread of COVID 19 disease.
As per the new regulation, wearing mask at all public and private institutions, market places and other places of worship is compulsory. Also, no public and private offices will serve anyone who is not wearing a mask.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the topper in implementing PM Street Vendors Atmanirbhar Nidhi Scheme (SVANidhi Scheme). The state has been ranked No.1 in number of applications, sanctions and disbursements.
The PM SVANidhi scheme was launched by the Central Government on June1, 2020 to give financial assistance to urban street vendors during the Covid 19 pandemic.

Former Member of Parliament and legendary Gujarati singer-musician Mahesh Kanodia has recently passed away at the age of 83.
Mahesh Kanodia was an MP from Patan Lok Sabha constituency. He is the brother of legendary Gujarati film star Naresh Kanodia and the they are known as the Mahesh-Naresh duo in Gujarati film industry.

Union Minister of State for Shipping Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurated the ‘Direct Port Entry (DPE) facility’ of V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust, Tamil Nadu.
‘Direct Port Entry (DPE)’ will help in increasing Ease of Doing Business for the exporters. The facility is expected to lower tariff cost and improve the competitiveness of shipper in the international trade. This will also align it on the lines of ‘Maritime Vision 2030’ of Ministry of Shipping.

Recently, the state Government of Andhra Pradesh has imposed a ban on bringing in alcohol from other states. An order for enforcing the notification has been issued by the state.
This move by the Chief Minster is seen as a measure to reduce alcohol consumption in the state and to improve the quality of people’s life.

The Government of Uttar Pradesh has decided to launch a Focused Group COVID Testing campaign. This special campaign would be in place for a period of 16 days and is aimed to break the chain of Corona infection during upcoming festive season.
Karva Chauth and Diwali are two major festivals which are expected to attract a large number of people to the market and other public places and increase the risk of Covid-19 spread in the state.
