Notes:
The New Development Bank, also known as BRICS Bank has approved Infrastructure projects worth 741 million dollars in India.
The Bank approved a loan of USD 500 million for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Project and a loan of USD 241 million for Mumbai Metro Rail II (Line 6) Project. The RRTS project will reduce the journey time from Delhi to Meerut to 60 minutes.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that India’s GDP growth would contract by 9.5 per cent for this fiscal year.
During its monetary policy committee meeting, the RBI has kept the repo rate and reverse repo rate unchanged. RBI also highlighted that Inflation is to touch the target of 4 per cent by the fourth quarter of 2020-21.

The Delhi government has exempted road tax on its battery-operated vehicles under its new Electric Vehicle Policy.
The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi of the National Capital Territory of Delhi exempted the road tax with immediate effect. Delhi has been at the forefront in promoting Electric vehicles through various incentives and developing the supporting infrastructure.

Notes:
The Kardhungla Pass is located in the Leh District of Ladakh. It serves as a gateway to Shyok and Nubra Valley. The pass is strategically important since it is used to carry supplies to Siachen Glacier. It is maintained by the Border Roads Organisation.
Recently, Indian Airforce has created a record of highest skydive landing at the Khardung La Pass,as a part of the 88th IAF day celebration. The pass is located at an altitude of 17,982 feet.

Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF) is a leading think tank from Taiwan and the organizer of the Yushan Forum.
The think tank was seen in the news recently, as it has signed a memorandum with India’s National Maritime Foundation (NMF), to promote cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. The agreement also aims to conduct joint research.

The Government of India has constituted the ‘Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog’, under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying
It aims to promote animal husbandry on modern and scientific means and to preserve and improve breeds of cattle. Recently, RKA started a nation-wide campaign to celebrate Kamdhenu Deepawali Abhiyan on the occasion of Diwali festival.

The Indian arm of the technology major Intel has partnered with IIIT Hyderabad, Public Health Foundation of India and Government of Telangana and has set up an Artificial Intelligence Research Centre in Telangana.
The AI research facility aims at solving India’s population-related challenges in sectors such as smart mobility and health.

The team TRIFED Warriors has bagged the “National Awards for Excellence – PSU” in the Investment in Start-Ups Category.
The awards are hosted by the World HRD Congress to recognize the outstanding initiatives taken by Government departments, Public Sector Units and industries. TRIFED won in three categories: CEO of the Year, Visionary Leadership Award and Investment in Start-Ups.

Notes:
Regional Raw Drug Repository (RRDR) of the Ministry of Ayush has been inaugurated at National Institute of Siddha – Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This repository will play an important role in medicinal plant cultivation.
The RRDRwould help in collection, documentation, and authentication of raw drugs from the Southern Plateau Region.

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI Aayog has signed a Statement of Intent (SOI) with CGI India. The aim of the partnership is to create a successful and innovative workforce from ATL schools.
CGI India is one of the largest IT and business consulting services firms. Under the partnership, CGI has agreed to adopt 100 schools with ATLs across Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai to promote and train students.
