Himachal state government launched the ‘Rajiv Gandhi Van Samvardhan Yojana’ from Hamirpur to boost environmental conservation and public participation in forest management. It aims to increase green cover by planting fruit-bearing trees on barren forest lands and create jobs for local people. The ‘Green Adoption Scheme’ was also launched, where companies like Ambuja, Adani Foundation, and Ultra-Tech will undertake plantations under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). ‘Van Mitras’ were appointed to support forest protection and raise awareness, with many women among the recruits.

Recently, the Government of India launched the Ayush Nivesh Saarthi portal during the Ayush Stakeholder and Industry Interaction Meet at Vanijya Bhawan in New Delhi. It is a dedicated digital platform for investors developed by the Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) in collaboration with Invest India. It aims to boost India’s traditional wellness systems as a strong economic sector. The portal combines policy details, incentive schemes, ready-to-invest projects, and real-time assistance in one interface.

Recently, the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) disbursed ₹300 crore as margin money subsidy to 8,794 beneficiaries. This was done under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). PMEGP is a central sector scheme launched in August 2008 to create jobs by supporting micro-enterprises in rural and urban non-farm sectors. It is a credit-linked subsidy scheme managed by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Chenab and Anji rail bridges in Jammu and Kashmir, marking a major milestone in regional connectivity. The Chenab Rail Bridge is the world’s highest railway arch bridge. It is a steel-and-concrete engineering marvel spanning 1,315 meters across the Chenab River gorge. It is designed to withstand earthquakes and strong winds, and it will reduce travel time between Katra and Srinagar to just about 3 hours. The Anji Rail Bridge is India’s first cable-stayed railway bridge, located in Reasi district.

Flipkart has become the first major Indian e-commerce company to receive a Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) licence from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This marks the first time RBI has allowed a large e-commerce platform to operate its own NBFC. Unlike traditional NBFCs, Flipkart can lend money directly but cannot accept public deposits. Earlier, most e-commerce platforms offered loans through partnerships with banks or NBFCs. With this licence, Flipkart can now lend independently, which offers better control and higher profits. This development highlights RBI’s evolving regulatory stance on digital commerce and fintech integration.

India hosted the 4th India-Central Asia Dialogue in New Delhi under the chairmanship of External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar. The meeting focused on regional security, critical minerals, connectivity, counter-terrorism, and economic integration with five Central Asian nations. The India-Central Asia Dialogue is a multilateral platform for foreign ministers to hold structured discussions. The dialogue aims to boost cooperation in trade, transport, energy, health, information technology, and regional stability.

Recently, the President of India appointed Shri T. Rabi Sankar, Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), as a part-time member of the 16th Finance Commission (XVIFC). He will serve either till the Commission submits its report or until 31st October 2025, whichever comes earlier. His appointment follows the resignation of Shri Ajay Narayan Jha, a full-time member, due to personal reasons. The 16th Finance Commission (XVIFC) was formed on 31st December 2023.

India’s first underwater museum and artificial coral reef will be created around the decommissioned warship Indian Naval Ship (INS) Guldar near Nivati Rocks in Sindhudurg district, Maharashtra. The project was virtually inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra with strong support from the central government. It aims to promote marine conservation and tourism, offering activities like scuba diving and submarine tours in the future. INS Guldar, a 1,120-ton ship decommissioned in January 2024, has been handed over to Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation.

The National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) was inaugurated for the Puducherry Legislative Assembly on 09 June 2025 by the Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs. NeVA is developed by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs (MoPA) to digitize legislative proceedings across all 37 State and Union Territory (UT) legislatures. It works on the principle of ‘One Nation – One Application’ to bring transparency, paperless functioning, and efficiency in lawmaking. Recently, Puducherry joined the digital platform to modernize its Assembly operations and contribute to a unified digital legislative ecosystem.

Interpol coordinated a global cybercrime crackdown called ‘Operation Secure’ from January to April 2025. More than 20,000 malicious Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and domains linked to information-stealing malware were taken down. Law enforcement agencies from 26 countries, including India, joined efforts to locate servers and dismantle cybercriminal infrastructure. Interpol worked with private companies like Group-IB, Kaspersky, and Trend Micro to share cyber intelligence across Asia.
