In the recently released Motor Third Party Premium and Liability Rules (FY) 2023-24 by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in consultation with IRDAI, no change is proposed in the premium rates for third-party motor insurance for FY2023-24.
The Government of India has made it mandatory in India for motor vehicles to get a third-party insurance policy under the provisions of Motor Vehicles Act of India, 1988.

The Central Government has urged the states to comply with the National Action Plan on heat-related illnesses.
The National Action Plan was released in 2021. It has also asked the states to effectively implement the State Action Plans to ensure timely warning for people and ensure preventive preparedness to reduce the severe impact of heatwaves.

The Lake Victoria Basin is a large geographical region in East Africa that encompasses the drainage basin of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the world’s second-largest freshwater lake by surface area. Lake Victoria spans the borders of Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya.
A new study revealed that this region faces risks of heavy rains, wind storms, and floods that jeopardize communities’ survival, water access, and impact the region’s human populations and biodiversity.

The United Kingdom Treasury has granted equivalence to central counterparties authorized by the Reserve Bank of India, resolving a regulatory dispute and marking the first such decision post-Brexit.
The decision was made based on the assessment that the RBI’s regulatory framework for designated CCPs aligns with the Principles on Financial Market Infrastructures (PFMIs), satisfying the outcomes required by the UK. PFMIs  are issued by the CPMI and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese festival that is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. It is also known as Double Fifth Festival.
People take part in various leisure activities to spend the Dragon Boat Festival. The Chinese community in Kolkata also observes the traditional Chinese holiday, commemorating the ancient poet Qu Yuan.

The establishment of the Minerals Security Partnership (MSP), led by the United States, aims to fast-track the global development of resilient and eco-friendly supply chains for crucial energy minerals.
India recently became its member alongside 12 other partner countries and the European Union.

Broward County in Florida has been placed under quarantine after the discovery of a large African land snail, known for its invasive nature and destructive impact on the environment.
These snails can grow up to eight inches in size, lay numerous eggs, and carry a parasite that poses health risks to humans, including meningitis.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to tour the Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah mosque, situated in Cairo, Egypt. It is named after Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah (985-1021), the 16th Fatimid Caliph.
As the fourth oldest mosque in Egypt and the second largest, it holds significant historical and architectural importance.

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed a Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for authorized economic operators (AEOs), allowing Customs authorities of both countries to recognize safe and compliant exporters and importers.
This agreement aims to enhance facilitation and streamline customs clearances for AEOs, providing them with improved benefits and efficiencies.
