The coalition is tasked with securing tense Gulf waterways that are vital to the global oil trade. The coalition had 38 member states.

The 2023 Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo will be organized by Indonesia from June 4 to 8 in Makassar.
This event will mark the fourth iteration of the exercise since its inception in 2014. The previous edition of this exercise took place in 2018 before it was suspended because of COVID-19.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), the regulatory body for medicines, has given its endorsement for rimegepant as the first oral medication recommended for migraine.
The new medication by Pfizer, to be available on the NHS, will help thousands of migraine sufferers in England.

Galleri test is a multi-cancer blood test that can detect more than 50 types of cancer. The test effectively detected tumors in 66.67% of the 5,000 people in England and Wales.
In 85% of those positive cases, it also pinpointed the original site of cancer. The Galleri test looks for distinct changes in bits of genetic code that leak from different cancers.

The Countervailing Duty (CVD) is commonly imposed to safeguard domestic companies that are unable to compete with low-cost imports benefiting from subsidies provided by the exporting country.
The Indian government is planning to impose this duty on stainless steel imports to prevent the flooding of cheap imports and protect the domestic manufacturers.

India Rankings 2023 was released recently by Minister of State for Education and External Affairs. It is based on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) developed by the Ministry of Education in 2015.
Indian Institute of Technology Madras retains its 1st position in Overall Category for fifth consecutive year, i.e. 2019 to 2023 and in Engineering for eighth consecutive year, i.e. from 2016 to 2023.

Nyaya Vikas Portal was launched recently for monitoring the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
It provides information regarding the funding, documentation, project monitoring and approval of these schemes. The Department of Justice has been implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for Development of Infrastructure Facilities for Districts and Subordinate Judiciary since 1993-94.

‘Tracking SDG7: The Energy Progress Report 2023’ report was released by International Energy Agency (IEA), IRENA, UNSD, World Bank and WHO.
According to this report, world is facing challenges in achieving UN-mandated Sustainable Development Goal 7 by 2030 due to factors such as elevated inflation, an unpredictable macroeconomic future, and concerns about mounting debt. SDG 7 is ‘Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all.’
