The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has signed a MoU with Amazon Kisan for guiding farmers on scientific cultivation of different crops for optimum yield and income.
Under the agreement, ICAR will provide technological backstopping to the farmers through Amazon’s network. It will improve farmers’ livelihood and boost crop yield.

The United States of America’s Vice President Kamala Harris has announced that USA will  be investing more than 100 million US Dollars in the Caribbean region to crack down on weapons trafficking, help alleviate Haiti’s humanitarian crisis and support climate change initiatives.
This announcement was made ahead of an official trip to the Bahamas by the US Vice President.

Australia scripted history as they became the first men’s team in world cricket to win an International Cricket Council (ICC) world title in all three formats.
Australia achieved the feat when they defeated India in the final of the World Test Championship 2021-23 at The Oval to become the new world champions of the Test Cricket.

The Delhi Special Police Establishment Act, 1946 (Central Act XXV of 1946) requires the CBI to get prior permission from the state government before going to the state’s jurisdiction for conducting probes. Tamil Nadu recently became the 10th state to withdraw its general consent for the CBI investigations.

The mother earth is worshipped during Odisha’s Raja festival. This festival is celebrated for three days. The first day of the festival is called ‘Pahili Raja’, the second day is called ‘Majhi Raja’ ‘Raja Sankranti’ or ‘Mithuna Sankranti’, the third day is ‘Bhudaha’ or ‘Basi Raja’ or ‘Sesha Raja’.
Notably, ‘Pahili Raja’ falls on the last day of month ‘Jyestha’ and ‘Raja Sankranti’ on the first day of month ‘Asadha’, celebrating the beginning of the rainy season.

The government has decided to cease the sale of rice and wheat from the central pool through the Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) to state governments.
This decision will have an impact on certain states, such as Karnataka, which provide free grains to the underprivileged. The decision is aimed at curbing inflation and ensuring adequate stock levels.

The initiative will inform  stakeholders about court-related key parameters and bring  awareness among public by providing an overview of court-related data.

The World Bank (WB) launched its first dedicated road safety project in South Asia, with a USD 358 million financing agreement signed with the government of Bangladesh.
The project seeks to improve road safety and reduce fatalities and injuries from road crashes in selected cities, high-risk highways, and district roads.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin laid the foundation stone for the Fintech City and Fintech Tower projects in Chennai.
The Fintech City, spanning 56 acres with an investment potential of ₹12,000 crore, will accommodate international and national BFSI institutions, promoting job creation for 80,000 individuals.

Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais signed an ordinance amending the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960, and removing “non-active” members of their voting rights.
As per the ordinance, “non-active” members are those who have not attended a single annual general body meeting or utilised the services of the society for five consecutive years.
