The Congress government in Karnataka has announced the repeal of the State’s Protection of Right to Freedom of Religion Act, 2022, which is popularly known as the anti-conversion law.
The State Cabinet also decided to reverse the changes made to Kannada and Social Studies school textbooks last year, including lessons on Hindutva ideologues.

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong announced the appointment of Philip Green as Australia’s next High Commissioner to India.
Mr. Green, who was most recently Australia’s Ambassador to Germany, would succeed incumbent Barry O’Farrell.

The government has formed an expert panel, headed by former law secretary T K Vishwanathan, to establish India as a global center for international arbitration and alleviate the strain on courts.
The panel will propose reforms to the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. The committee, consisting of Attorney General N Venkataramani, has been established by the Department of Legal Affairs of the Union Law Ministry.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has imposed restrictions on online bond platform providers, prohibiting them from offering products other than listed debt securities.
However, SEBI has allowed these platforms to offer specific securities such as Government Securities, Treasury Bills, listed Sovereign Gold Bonds, listed municipal debt securities, and listed securitized debt instruments.

The Google introduced the Indian Languages Programme with the goal of offering training, assistance, and financial aid to small news publishers in India who work in eight local languages apart from English. The Indian Languages Programme seeks to support news publishers in English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Gujarati, and Marathi through training, technical support, and funding.

Goa is hosting the 37th National Games this year. The Mascot for 37th National Games, named MOGA was unveiled in Goa by its Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant recently. The mascot is a representation of Indian Bison. The word Moga is derived from Konkani language, meaning Love. During the launch event, the national games jersey was also unveiled.

Euclid mission, a European probe, will be launched into space to increase the understanding of the dark matter and dark energy. The Euclid mission is valued at USD 1.10 billion.
The probe will join fellow space telescope James Webb at a stable hovering spot 1.5 million kilometers from Earth called the second Lagrangian Point.

A new study revealed that Europe is the fastest warming continent in the world. The continent’s temperature has risen by 2.3 degree Celsius last year compared to the pre-industrial times.
The World Meteorological Organization has released a report on the status of the undesired impact of climate change.

Bangladesh is set to adopt the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mandated method to calculate its foreign reserves.
The calculation of foreign exchange holdings of the country will now be In line with the IMF’s 6th edition of the Balance of Payment and International Investment Position Manual (BMM6). Moving to the IMF methodology would take out the amount committed by the government to the export development fund worth USD 6 billions.
