Hindustan Petroleum Corp Ltd (HPCL) has initiated a pilot study on vehicles utilizing E27 fuel and Ethanol Blended Diesel Fuel.
This pioneering research program by an Oil Marketing Company in India corresponds with the country’s plan to promote ethanol blending in gasoline by 2025. HPCL will also evaluate ethanol-diesel trials on passenger cars, for a targeted mileage accumulation of 20,000 km initially.

Karnataka state government clarified the guidelines of Gruha Jyoti under which 200 units of free power will be introduced.
Those seeking free power under Gruha Jyoti should enroll through the Seva Sindhu portal of the State Government. The state has 2.16 crore consumers who use less than 200 units of power.

The Union Cabinet has approved the third revival package for BSNL with a total outlay of 89 thousand 47 crore rupees. It includes an allotment of 4G and 5G spectrum for BSNL through equity infusion.
The authorised capital of BSNL will be increased from one lakh 50 thousand crore rupees to two lakh ten thousand crore rupees.

Assam Tea has completed 200 years. In view of this, the Assam government announced its decision to provide a three-year tax exemption on agricultural income starting from April 1.
The state government also announced interest subvention on the working capital loan by the tea estates and subsidies on production and on purchase of plant and machinery for orthodox tea production.

Ravindra Jadeja breaks the record of India’s most successful left-arm spinner, Bishan Singh Bedi. On the third day of the India-Australia World Test Championship final, Jadeja took 267 wickets in 65 Test matches with an economy rate of 2.44 and an average of 24.25.
Bedi held this record for the longest time with 266 wickets in 67 matches.

India defeated four-time champions South Korea 2-1 and clinch their maiden Women’s Junior Hockey Asia Cup in Japan’s Kakamigahara.

India’s retail inflation got reduced further in May to a 20-month low of 4.25%, from 4.7% in April, with price rise in food items faced by consumers moderating to 2.91%.
This is the third successive month that inflation has remained below the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) upper tolerance limit of 6%.

Measures like security assessment, grievance redressal, Prison Development Board, behavioral changes towards prisoners, and separate accommodation for women and transgender individuals, will be implemented.
