India captain Rohit Sharma has become the third Indian opener to cross 13,000 runs across formats, after Virender Sehwag (15,758) and Sachin Tendulkar (15,335) to achieve this feat.
He is the third-quickest to the mark among all openers, only behind Matthew Hayden (293 innings) and Sachin Tendulkar (295), as he crossed the mark in his 307th innings.

The non-profit Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has released its annual report in which Telangana was ranked in the top in terms of overall environmental performance.
Telangana was ranked at the top for its progress in increasing its forest cover and in municipal waste treatment.

With an aim to strengthen 1,514 urban co-operative banks in India, the Reserve Bank of India has notified four key measures.
As per the notification, Cooperative Banks are given two years more to meet the priority sector lending targets, UCBs can now open new branches up to 10 per cent of the number of branches in the previous financial year without prior approval of RBI.

Serbia’s Novak Djokovic has won the Roland Garros 2023 trophy after a victory against Norwegian Casper Rudd.
With this win, Novak Djokovic has now reached the tally of 23 Grand Slam titles, the most by any male tennis player. The highest number of grand slams by a tennis player is won by Margret Court – 24 Grand slams.

India defeated four-time champions South Korea 2-1 and clinch their maiden Women’s Junior Hockey Asia Cup in Japan’s Kakamigahara.
This marks India’s first-ever win in the tournament. Annu and Neelam scored the goals for India while Indian captain Preeti who was named Player-of-the-Match.

The Indian Navy, recently conducted a massive Carrier Battle Group (CBG) operation, which is considered as one of the biggest demonstrations of its operational capabilities in recent years.
The operation involved twin both of India’s aircraft carriers — INS Vikramaditya and INS Vikrant — along with a diverse fleet of escort ships, submarines and aircraft.

As per the data from MyGovIndia, India has recorded 89.5 million digital transactions in the year 2022 and has topped the list of five countries in digital payments,
India accounted for 46% of the global real-time payments and the digital payment transactions in India are more than the other four leading countries combined.

The maiden Janjatiya Khel Mahotsav was held recently in Bhubaneswar with Odisha emerging as overall champion.
The Mahotsav is a coordinated effort of the Union Ministry of Culture, Odisha Government, and KIIT University. The event witnessed participation of 5000 tribal athletes, 1000 officials of 2 states.

The 2025 IIAS (International Institute of Administrative Sciences) annual conference is proposed to be held in India, at Kochi. The event will be attended by 30 member countries, 18 national sections and over 50 academic institutions.
The International Institute of Administrative Sciences, which is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, is a federation of member states, national sections and research institutions which elaborate on pubic administration solutions.

The UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution, piloted by India, to establish a new memorial wall for fallen Peacekeepers. The resolution received a record 190 co-sponsorships.
As per a data revealed by the UNGA, out of the 3,500 peacekeepers who have lost lives in different missions of conflict areas across the globe, 178 are Indians.
