Notes:
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), also known as the Tamil Tigers, was a militant organization in Sri Lanka that fought for an independent Tamil state called Tamil Eelam.
The militant group was founded in 1976 by Velupillai Prabhakaran. It engaged in armed clashes against the Sri Lankan government and armed forces. The LTTE was widely regarded as the most dominant Tamil militant group in Sri Lanka and a feared guerrilla force.

Notes:
The ‘Aadi Mahotsav’ is a national tribal festival organized by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation (TRIFED).
This nationwide festival celebrates the Indian tribal community’s traditional art, culture, crafts, gastronomy, and trade. Special emphasis will be placed on exhibiting millets grown by tribal people.

eSanjeevani, also known as National Teleconsultation Service, is a government initiative that provides online outpatient doctor (OPD) consultation service to citizens.
This first-of-its-kind scheme was launched in 2019 and it is being implemented by the Union Health Ministry. The eSanjeevani OPD portal and system was developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). The platform recently registered a new record by delivering teleconsultation services to 10 crore beneficiaries.

The Delhi Police is a law enforcement agency that comes under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
It is responsible for the National Capital Territory of India (NCT) and is currently one of the largest metropolitan police forces in the world. On February 16, the Delhi Police Raising Day was observed. The year 2023 marks the 76th Raising Day.

The International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) is observed across the global level on February 15. This day commemorate the establishment of the Childhood Cancer International, which is a federation of child cancer support groups from across the world.
This international federation was founded in the year 1994. The objective of the ICCD is to bring global awareness about children with cancer. It also seeks to provide assistance for them. “Better Survival” is the slogan for this 3-year initiative of International Childhood Cancer Day campaign.

West Bengal state government announced its state budget for the year 2023-24 and broadens several welfare schemes.
The state Budget for the year 2023-24 widened the ambit of social welfare schemes like Lakshmi Bhandar, added a new scheme providing death benefits for fishermen, promised financial assistance for micro-enterprise and allocated ₹3000 crore for rural road connectivity and repair of urban roads in the State.

The Tourism Ministry will organise first Global Tourism Investors’ Summit from this year in New Delhi to showcase opportunities in the Tourism and hospitality sector.
The Summit will deliberate on potential opportunities for investment across tourism segments including hotels and restaurants, adventure and eco-tourism, cruise, and other related tourism sectors.

A bipartisan resolution was introduced in the US Senate to recognise Arunachal Pradesh as an integral part of India.
The resolution commends India for taking steps to defend itself against aggression and security threats from China.

Debt-for-nature swaps are financial arrangements where a fraction of a developing country’s foreign debt is waived, and in return, the country makes investments in local environmental conservation. Debt-for-nature swaps have been implemented successfully in many countries to promote environmental conservation. However, they are not seen as a long-term solution since only small portion of the debt is waived off.

The United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) was created by the UN in 1974 to maintain peace between Israeli and Syrian forces.
It also supervises the implementation of the disengagement agreement. The UNODF is currently deployed along the Area of Separation between Syrian and Israeli borders. The Indian Government has sent an Army team that was deployed in the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) mission to provide relief material to the earthquake-hit Syria.
