MobiKwik has become the first fintech app to support RuPay Credit Cards on UPI. The facility will help millions of customers who use UPI for their daily transactions.
With RuPay Credit Cards now linked directly to UPI IDs, customers can easily make payments to merchants by scanning the UPI QR code and using UPI PIN for payment authentication.

Samsung Semiconductor India Research (SSIR) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) have recently announced a partnership.
The partnership aims to promote research and development in an on-chip electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection.

The 3rd ASEAN Digital Ministers (ADGMIN) meeting with India was held on a virtual platform. India and Philippines co-chaired the meeting and adopted India-ASEAN Digital Work Plan 2023.
In 2022, ASEAN India Friendship Year was celebrated, commemorating 30th anniversary of establishment of dialogue relations with ASEAN. It was held under the theme ‘Synergy Towards a Sustainable Digital Future’.

President of India Droupadi Murmu appointed governors in 12 states and a Union Territory while accepting the resignation of two Governors namely Maharashtra’s Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Ladakh’s Radha Krishnan Mathur.
Jharkhand Governor Ramesh Bais is now Governor of Maharashtra and Arunachal Pradesh governor Brigadier B D Mishra (retired) has been appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh.

The winners of the 2023 Wolf Prize were announced recently. The eight recipients come from five different countries and three of the laureates are from the United States.
Israel’s Wolf Prize has been awarded since 1978 and is considered one of the world’s most prestigious awards for scientific and artistic achievements. The scientific categories include Medicine, Agriculture, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. The art categories are in Painting and Sculpting, Music, and Architecture.

‘Technotex 2023: Envisioning Indian Technical Textiles at 2047’ is the flagship event of the Ministry of Textiles.
It will be organised in Mumbai in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Its main purpose is to promote textiles that are specifically designed for specific purposes.

eSanjeevani, also known as National Teleconsultation Service, is a government initiative that provides online outpatient doctor (OPD) consultation service to citizens.
This first-of-its-kind scheme was launched in 2019 and it is being implemented by the Union Health Ministry. The eSanjeevani OPD portal and system was developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC). The platform recently registered a new record by delivering teleconsultation services to 10 crore beneficiaries.

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh announced that a record 75 per cent of the defence capital procurement budget has been earmarked for domestic industry in 2023-24.
In 2023-24, the Ministry of Defence has been allocated a total Budget of 5.94 lakh crore rupees, which is 13.18 per cent of the total budget. Capital outlay pertaining to modernisation and infrastructure development has been increased to 1.63 lakh crore rupees.

India and Spain agreed to collaborate on digital infrastructure, climate action and sustainable development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Spanish counterpart Mr Pedro Sánchez discussed several bilateral and international issues of mutual interest. They have also reviewed ongoing bilateral initiatives and expressed satisfaction at the high-level exchanges and growing cooperation in defence, economic and commercial sectors.

Akshdeep Singh and Priyanka Goswami have won the National Race-Walking Championships 2023 in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
With this, both have qualified for this year’s World Championships and next year’s Olympics in Paris. India’s Ram Baboo and Manju Rani set new national records to win the men’s 35km and women’s 35km races, respectively.
