WhatsApp has been named India’s most accessible app for persons with disabilities in a report titled ‘Making the Digital Ecosystem Disabled Friendly’.
The report was released by the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, which evaluated accessibility features of messaging, online payments, transport, e-commerce, and food delivery. WhatsApp was the only app rated as ‘highly accessible’ based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

The Rajasthan state Forest Department has proposed to construct a zoo inside Keoladeo National Park, a World Heritage Site popularly known as Bharatpur bird sanctuary.
The Wetland Ex-Situ Conservation Establishment (WESCE) aims to display a range of wetland species, including rhinos, water buffaloes, crocs, dolphins and exotic species. AFD, an arm of the French government, has agreed to fund up to Rs 1,200 crore over eight years. Experts raise questions about the zoo coming up in a significant habitat for migratory birds.

MicroLEDs are self-illuminating diodes that have brighter and better colour reproduction than Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display technology.
Apple is currently working on this display technology and plans to implement on future watch models starting in 2024 and expand to phones and desktops. This is considered as the next big transition in display technology.

The term BIMARU was coined by the late demographer Ashish Bose in a paper that was presented to the former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
The term BIMARU is an acronym for Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. BIMARU states are those that are considered to be lagging behind in the overall economic growth and basic amenities like education, healthcare.

Lumpy skin disease (LSD) is a viral illness that affects cattle, caused by the lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV) of the Capripoxvirus genus.
This disease is characterized by the formation of nodules or lumps on the skin, accompanied by fever and other symptoms. It causes reduced milk production, weight loss, damage to hides and welfare issues.

The H3 rocket is a Japanese launch vehicle developed by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
The first launch attempt of the H3 rocket was expected to take place in February, 2023. However, it was aborted due to an anomaly in the first stage system. The second launch attempt is expected to take place at the end of March this year.

The series of G-20 tech and business events will begin with the two-day Global Tech Summit (GTS), which is set to begin in Vishakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
The GTS may bring many persons from the technology, pharma and agriculture industries to discuss the latest trends and advancements. Nearly 1,000 delegates from more than 25 countries will participate.

India and Fiji signed a Memorandum of Understanding on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
Under this agreement, diplomatic and official passport holders will be able to enter, transit, and stay in each other territories without a visa for a period not exceeding 90 days.

World Economic Forum (WEF) recently released the ‘Global Security Outlook Report 2023’ in collaboration with Accenture.
It warned that the cyber-attacks are expected to cause an unprecedented threat in the coming 2 years. The report also predicts catastrophic cyber events mainly due to the present geopolitical instability.

Israel has passed a new Citizenship Law that allows the deportation and stripping of citizenship of individuals who received funding from the Palestinian Authority or an associated organization.
This legislation amends Israel’s 1952 Citizenship Law. The new law applies to Israeli citizens and permanent residents, who are imprisoned after being convicted for terror, aiding terror, harming sovereignty, inciting war and assisting the adversary during the times of war.
