India’s G-20 Sherpa Mr Amitabh Kant inaugurated India’s first Model G-20 Summit organised by Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini’s Indian Institute of Democratic Leadership.
The two-day Model G-20 Summit starting has been organised near Mumbai to take the idea of G-20 to the youth. Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, the parent organisation of IIDL is also the Secretariat of the G-20 Civil Society engagement group – Civil-20.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has started exports of aviation gasoline, which is used to operate unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and small planes.
For the first time in the nation’s history, India is exporting fuel. The first consignment of 80 barrels of aviation gas named ‘AV gas 100 LL’ was shipped from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) to Papua New Guinea.

Odisha’s Health Minister Naba Kishore Das died after being shot by a policeman. He died after he was shot by a policeman at Gandhi Chhak in Brajrajnagar area of Jharsuguda district, where he had gone to attend an event.
The shooter was identified as Gopal Das, who was posted in the Gandhi Chowk police outpost of. He had earlier served the Minister in the capacity of his personal security officer.

Tata Trusts are setting up endowment funding entities on the lines of the US-based Burroughs Wellcome Fund.
This is aimed at reducing dependence on dividend income earned from Tata Sons. The Burroughs Wellcome Fund is an independent foundation dedicated to advance medical sciences by supporting research.

As per recent data, the High street rental prices in the top 8 cities in the world saw a significant rise in 2022.
As per the data, some cities experienced a 50% increase. The rise in rental prices is being attributed to a growing demand for prime retail locations, rise of e-commerce and shift towards online shopping.

According to the World Economic Outlook update released by the IMF, about 84 percent of countries are expected to have lower headline (CPI) inflation in 2023 than in 2022.
Inflation in India is expected to come down from 6.8 percent in the current fiscal year to 5 percent the next fiscal, and then drop further to 4 percent in 2024.

The five-member Supreme Court collegium led by Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud recommended to the government two High Court Chief Justices for appointment as apex court judges.
The Supreme Court has seven vacancies now while it has a sanctioned judicial strength of 34. The central government is expected to clear the names of three high court chief justices and two HC judges. With this, the working strength of the Supreme Court will go up to 32. Currently, it is 27.

As per the Economic Survey 2022-23, the central and state governments’ budgeted expenditure on healthcare touched 2.1 % of GDP in FY23 and 2.2% in FY22.
In FY21, the figure was only 1.6% in FY21. The Survey said that the share of expenditure on health in total expenditure on social services has risen from 21% in FY19 to 26 % in FY23 (BE). Out of-pocket expenditure (OOPE) as a percentage of total health expenditure has declined from 64.2% in FY14 to 48.2% in FY19.

Jharkhand governor Ramesh Bais sent the ‘1932 Khatiyan Bill’ back to the Hemant Soren government for reconsideration.
The Governor described it to be violative of Article 16 of the Constitution and court rulings. The state government had passed the ‘Jharkhand definition of local persons and for extending the consequential, social, cultural and other benefits to such local persons Bill, 2022’.
