Food Safety and Standards Authority of India is a statutory body established under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
FSSAI recently notified financial regulations and according to the FSSAI (Finance) Regulations, 2023, it will maintain a Food Safety and Standards Authority of India Fund. This fund will include grants given to the food authority by the Central government among others. This will be annually audited by the Comptroller and Auditor General.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced an all-13-member female panel of match officials for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
The 2023 Women’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in next month in South Africa. The Indian trio of GS Lakshmi, Vrinda Rathi, and Janani Narayanan are included in the group.

The entomologists have named a new genus of wasp after Soliga, an indigenous community of Biligiri Rangan Hills in Karnataka.
The new genus has been named as Soliga ecarinata in an acknowledgement of the Soliga lifestyle and in recognition of their conservation of forests and biodiversity.

The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has emerged as the world’s largest derivatives exchange in 2022, in terms of the number of contracts traded.
This is the fourth consecutive year when the exchange earned the top spot, according to the Futures Industry Association (FIA). In addition, the exchange was ranked third in the equity segment by the number of trades in 2022.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal government is set to introduce e-scooter services in the city to mitigate the last-mile connectivity issues.
By next year, 1500 e-scooters will be introduced across 250 locations. As per the Chief Minister, a pilot project will be run from Dwarka since it has many metro stations and bus stops. The scooters will be self-driven, and its users can rent them using an integrated bus and metro card.

Google’s Threat Analysis Group has blocked the group known as ‘Spamouflage Dragon’ and ‘Dragonbridge’.
The group typically share contents, which are pro-China views and included a higher volume of content critical of the United States. Threat Analysis Group’s (TAG) mission aims to understand and counter serious threats, including actors engaged in coordinated information operations (IO).

According to the World Economic Outlook update released by the IMF, about 84 percent of countries are expected to have lower headline (CPI) inflation in 2023 than in 2022.
Inflation in India is expected to come down from 6.8 percent in the current fiscal year to 5 percent the next fiscal, and then drop further to 4 percent in 2024.

Air Marshal AP Singh has assumed charge as the new Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force. The Air Marshal was commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF in 1984.
He has more than 5,000 hours of flying experience. Prior to assuming his current appointment, he was the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief at Central Air Command. He is a recipient of the Param Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.

Novak Djokovic’s Australian Open championship returned him to the top rank in the ATP rankings, replacing Carlos Alcaraz.
His four-place rise from No. 5 to No. 1 is the largest jump to the top spot in the 50-year history of the computerized rankings for men’s tennis. This marks Djokovic’s 374th week leading the ATP. With the 10th title at the Australian Open, he tied Rafael Nadal with 22 Grand Slam trophies.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan said the State capital would be shifted to Visakhapatnam.
He was addressing the preparatory meeting for Global Investors Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam. The State government had proposed three capitals, Visakhapatnam (Executive capital), Amaravati (Legislative capital) and Kurnool (Judicial capital). Amaravati is the present capital of Andhra Pradesh.
