Global Ratings major “S&P Global Ratings” has projected Indian economy to grow at 10% for the next financial year 2021-22.
This is 1% less than the growth projections made by the Economic Survey (11%) for the next financial year. S&P’s projections is based on continued normalisation of economic activities in India.

Theodore Baskaran, a leading Writer, historian, naturalist, and activist has been awarded with the Sanctuary Nature Foundation’s “Sanctuary Lifetime Service Award 2020”.
This award has been conferred upon him for his dedicated works in wildlife conservation and for his writings in Tamil – English regarding the same.

The Joint Conference of the 11th World PetroCoal Congress and World Future Fuel Summit was organised in New Delhi.
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan addressed the joint conference. HE highlighted that the Public sector companies in the oil industry have invested Rs 34,000 crore to upgrade plants for producing BS-VI fuel.

The world’s largest cricket stadium, Motera stadium was rebuilt and renovated. It is the venue for the third day-night India-England Test.
The stadium has a capacity of 1,10,000 along with 11 centre strips. It also houses four dressing rooms with in-built gymnasium. On account of Covid-19 pandemic, only 55000 persons are allowed inside the stadium.

The State Government of Kerala has sanctioned a sum of Rs.9 crore for converting conventional anganwadis into Smart anganwadis, with better amenities.
The project is undertaken by the state’s Department of Women and Child Development under the Smart Anganwadi scheme. Initially 48 anganwadis would be converted into smart structures.

India’s star Tennis player Ankita Raina won her maiden WTA title along with her Russian partner Kamilla Rakhimova.
The duo clinched the doubles event in the Phillip Island Trophy in Melbourne. With this win, the 28-year-old Ankita can reach top-100 in the WTA rankings in doubles. She will be the second Indian woman player to be in top-100 after Sania Mirza.

A Damage Control Simulator (DCS) for the Indian Navy would be set up in Port Blair of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The Commander in Chief of Andaman and Nicobar Command – Lt. Gen. Manoj Pande laid the foundation stone for the DCS. It would be established by Goa Shipyard Ltd.

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the Hoshangabad city located in the state would be renamed as Narmadapuram.
This announcement was made by the CM during Narmada Jayanti programme held in the city. The proposal in this regard has been sent to the Union Government.

India has recently extended a Line of Credit (LoC) amounting USD 40 million to the Government of Maldives. This is intended to boost the sports infrastructure of Maldives
This has been announced by the Union Minister for External Affairs Shri.S Jaishankar during his 2 day visit to Maldives.

Bird Count of India organised a campus bird count (CBC) in the Mangalore University, as a part of Great Backyard Bird Count.
During the process, the team of bird watchers spotted 108 species of birds including Yellow-Billed Babbler, Green Sandpiper, and Grey-Necked Bunting. With this, the counting process recorded a total of 146 species in the campus in six years.
