The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has launched the Mission Indradhanush 3.0. It aims to vaccinate children and pregnant women who have missed their regular vaccination due to COVID and national lockdown.
This campaign will have two rounds of vaccination. Women and children of migration areas and hard to reach terrains would be targeted first.

India participated in the 11th India – European Union (EU) Macroeconomic dialogue recently. The delegation was held in a virtual mode and India was led by Tarun Bajaj, Secretary, Economic Affairs.
EU is one of India’s largest trading partners. It is also an important source of technology and investment to India.

In a land mark move, the state government of Uttarakhand has passed an ordinance, which gives co-ownership rights to women in their husband’s ancestral property. This ordinance amends the Uttarakhand Zamindari abolition and land reforms act.
This ordinance has been moved in view of large-scale migration of male members of the state to other regions of the country.

Ace Tennis star Serbia’s Novak Djokovic won his ninth men’s singles title at the Australian Open tennis tournament in Melbourne.
He defeated Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final match. Men’s Doubles title was won by Croatia’s Ivan Dodig & Slovakia’s Filip Polášek. Women’s Doubles title was won by Belgium’s Elise Mertens & Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka. Mixed Doubles was won by Czech Republic’s Barbora Krejčíková & U.S.A ’s Rajeev Ram.

The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the Hoshangabad city located in the state would be renamed as Narmadapuram.
This announcement was made by the CM during Narmada Jayanti programme held in the city. The proposal in this regard has been sent to the Union Government.

Naomi Osaka of Japan defeated Jennifer Brady and clinched the Australian Open 2021 women’s title.
With this victory, she claimed her 4th Grand Slam title in her career. The 23-year-old player became the 3rd player after Monica Seles and Roger Federer to win their first four major finals. She is presently ranked No.2 in tennis ratings.

The Chairman of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) is Bhagwan Lal Sahni. He was seen in the news as he said that the commission is in favour of roughly four categories of OBCs as being suggested by the Justice Rohini Commission.
The Justice Rohini Commission has been studying sub-categorisation of OBCs. The Committee is expected to submit its report to the Central Government in July, this year.

India and Mauritius signed a free trade agreement, the comprehensive economic cooperation and partnership agreement (CECPA).
The countries signed six more pacts, including that for leasing a Dornier aircraft and Dhruv advanced light helicopter to monitor the exclusive economic zone of Mauritius. India also extended a USD 100-million line of credit to fund purchases of defence equipment.

The Government of UP in its state budget has announced that the under-construction airport at Ayodhya would be named as Maryada Purushottam Sriram Airport.
The budget has made a provision for Rs.101 crores for the airport. It is also envisaged that the airport would soon be made an international airport.

The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully conducted two launches of VL- SRSAM: Vertical Launch Short Range Surface to Air Missile.
This missile has been specially designed by the DRDO for deployment in Indian Navy. This missile has been developed to combat various aerial threats at close ranges.
