Fishing Cat is a special cat species that is found in wetland and mangrove ecosystems. The cat species is classified as Vulnerable as per IUCN Red list.
A team named Fishing Cat Conservation Alliance has been formed that comprise of conservationists, researchers and enthusiasts across the world working to conserve and protect Fishing Cat species.

Notes:
Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has banned the Future Retail’s Chairman Kishore Biyani and other promoters from the securities market for one year.
They have been charged for indulging in insider trading in the shares of the company. SEBI has also imposed a fine of Rs 1 Crore each on the promoters and ordered them to pay back Rs 17.78 crore with interest.

The Education Ministry constituted a task force to prepare roadmap on imparting technical education in mother tongue. It was set up in December 2020.
The committee will be headed by the Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare, with representations from Directors from different IITs and NITs. This was announced in the Rajya Sabha by the Ministry.

The Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Defence have recently approved 26 green zone sites across the country, to operate Drones. With this, the total green sites stand at 32.
Under the No-Permission-No-Takeoff (NPNT) compliance regulations, the drones are not authorised to fly without the NPNT automated green signal. The Government is also developing the Digital Sky platform, for automatic authorisations.

Pakistan has successfully test-fired a nuclear-capable surface-to-surface ballistic missile named ‘Ghaznavi’.
The ballistic missile is capable of delivering nuclear and other types of warheads up to a range of 290 kilometres. Last month, the country test-fired another nuclear-capable surface-to-surface ballistic missile Shaheen-III.

United States President Joe Biden announced to end the country’s support for Saudi-led military operations in Yemen.
By ending all support for the offensive operations including, the arm sales, it is indicated that the new administration would make efforts to end the civil war in Yemen. Former President Donald Trump approved to provide logistical assistance and sell advanced weaponry to the country.

As the Union Commerce and Industry, the Central Government is working on establishing a Single Window System for clearances and approvals of industries in the country.
A centralized Investment Clearance Cell was proposed last year, to prevent the investors from visiting various IT platforms and offices to obtain clearances. This one-stop digital platform will enable them receive all central and state clearances and approvals required.

The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched a new bus ticket booking service through its new microsite.
The new feature allows passengers to book bus tickets online. IRCTC has tied up with over 50000 state road transport and private bus operators, covering 22 states and three union territories. IRCTC already provides online railway and flight tickets.

The England Cricket Team Captain Joe Root has become the first cricket player to score a double century in the 100th test match.
Joe Root achieved this feat during the test match against India at Chennai. He scored fifth double century of his career. He also became only the second captain, other than Don Bradman, to hit 150-plus scores in three Test matches in a run.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is set to purchase four government securities (G-Secs) amounting Rs.20,000 crore under the Open Market Operations (OMO).
The motive behind this move is to bring down the yield on securities, that has reached a intra-day high of 6.1634% recently.
