Notes:
India’s first Centre for Wetland Conservation and Management has been set up in Chennai. It aims to strengthen research for conservation and management of the wetlands.
This has been set up as a part of the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), Chennai. The Centre would also serve as a knowledge hub and facilitate exchanges between state wetland authorities.

Notes:
India’s apex rights body NCPCR – National Commission for Protection of Child Rights has identified 50 “religious places” for complete elimination of child labour.
These places include Taj Mahal and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. The commission has stated that collaborative intervention would be made with stakeholders including child welfare police officers, anti-human trafficking unit etc in this regard.

Notes:
The Kaliveli Lake is a coastal lake and a wet land, situated in Villupuram District of Tamil Nadu. The lake is near the Bay of Bengal and is the second-largest brackish water lake in Southern India after the lake Pulicat.
The district administration has recently issued the first declaration under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, to declare the wetlands as a bird sanctuary.

Notes:
This year, the 16th edition of India-USA joint military exercise – Yudh Abhyas would be held between February 8 and 21.
This year’s exercise would be conducted at Indio-Pakistan border. The exercise aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries and will have a special focus on counter-terrorism operations.

The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industries, has organized a series of sector specific webinar named Udyog Manthan. This is organized in association with Quality Council of India and supported by Bureau of Indian Standards, CII, FICCI and ASSOCHAM.
The webinar has a focus on quality and productivity in all major sectors of manufacturing and services.

India hosted the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) Defence Ministers’ Conclave on February 4, 2021 on the side-lines of Aero India 2021 event.
The broad theme of the conclave is ‘Enhanced Peace, Security and Cooperation in the Indian Ocean’. During the conclave, India announced that it is ready to supply missile systems, LCA and other weapons systems to the countries in Indian Ocean Region.

The founder of the Indian multinational Software company Zoho, Sridhar Vembu has been appointed to the National Security Advisory Board (NSAB). Padma Shri
The board is led by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. Other new members are former ISRO Chairman K Radhakrishnan, academic member Anshuman Tripathy and former ambassador Arun K Singh.

Notes:
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has recently launched the risk-based internal audit (RBIA) system for some non-bank lenders and urban co-operative banks.
As per the notification, all deposit-taking NBFCs and NBFCs with an asset size of over Rs 5,000 crore, and urban co-operatives banks with assets of over Rs 500 crore will have to migrate to the new system.

Notes:
The Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Defence have recently approved 26 green zone sites across the country, to operate Drones. With this, the total green sites stand at 32.
Under the No-Permission-No-Takeoff (NPNT) compliance regulations, the drones are not authorised to fly without the NPNT automated green signal. The Government is also developing the Digital Sky platform, for automatic authorisations.

The Central Vista Avenue redevelopment project has been awarded to Ahmedabad-based Shapoorji Pallonji & Company Private Limited.
The redevelopment project has recently begun with a ceremony at the India Gate. The construction of the new Parliament building began last month. The project is estimated to cost Rs 608 crores and is expected to be completed by 2022.
