Notes:
The Reserve Bank of India has recently announced opening of Second Cohort under the Regulatory Sandbox (RS) with ‘Cross Border Payments,’ as its theme.
The Test Phase under the First Cohort on “Retail Payment” has already commenced. RBI has also stated that “MSME Lending” would be the theme for the Third Cohort. A regulatory sandbox (RS) refers to live testing of products or services in a test regulatory environment.

Notes:
December 18th of every year is observed as the World Arabic Language Day by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Arabic is a language spoken by more than 290 million people around the world and by observing this day, UNESCO aims to honour the language. It was on this date in 1973, the UN General Assembly adopted Arabic as an official language.

Notes:
The new green field airport that is being constructed at Jewar of Uttar Pradesh has been named NOIDA international airport. The new logo of the airport contains a Sarus Crane, which is the state bird of Uttar Pradesh.
The contract to construct the airport has been awarded to Zurich Airport International AG. The first phase of the airport is expected to be functional by 2024.

The famous industrialist Ratan Tata has been chosen to be awarded with “Global Visionary of Sustainable Business and Peace” honour, for innovations that promotes sustainability and peace in the Indo-Israel region.
This award would be presented to Ratan Tata during the launch of Indo-Israel Chamber of Commerce’s international chapter in Dubai.

Notes:
In the recently held Cologne Boxing World Cup in Cologne, Germany, India finished with nine medals including three gold.
Amit Panghal won gold in men’s category while Manisha Moun and Simranjit Kaur won gold in Women’s category. India also won two silver and four bronze at the Tournament and grabbed the second rank in the medal tally.

Notes:
In the Khelo India Youth Games 2021 Games scheduled to take place in Haryana, four games including Gatka, Kalaripayattu, Thang-Ta and Mallakhamba will be included along with Yogasana.
Kalaripayattu originated from Kerala and has been practised across the world. Mallakhamba is practised more in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, while Punjab’s Gatka and Manipur’s Thang-Ta are also included.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), the Companies (Auditor’s Report) Order, 2020 would come into effect from the financial years commencing on or after April 1, 2021.
The CARO 2020, is the new format of the Companies Order, which requires the companies to comply with stricter disclosure requirements on various issues. This aims to promote transparency and due diligence in the financial affairs of the companies.

India and Vietnam have recently organised a virtual summit which was participated by the Indian Prime Minister and his Vietnamese counterpart.
During the summit, the countries signed seven agreements for cooperation in fields such as defence, petrochemicals and nuclear energy. They also released a joint vision document for peace and prosperity and a plan of action for bilateral engagements during 2021-23.

Some Covid-19 patients in the state of Gujarat were affected by Mucormycosis, a rare fungal infection.
In response to that, the state Government issued an advisory about the risk of contraction. Mucormycosis is caused by a group of molds called mucormycetes. It infects people with a weak immune system and existing illness. It is said to have a mortality rate of 50%.

Veteran Congress leader and former Governor of Uttar Pradesh Motilal Vohra recently passed away at the age of 93.
He also served as the 13th Madhya Pradesh Chief minister in 1989 and a Rajya Sabha member from Chhattisgarh from 2002 to 2020.
