Notes:
The World Bank has recently approved four India projects worth over USD 800 million to support development schemes.
The projects include Chhattisgarh Inclusive Rural and Accelerated Agriculture Growth Project (CHIRAAG), Enhancing Classroom Teaching and Resources Project in Nagaland and Second Dam Improvement and Rehabilitation Project (DRIP-2) across various states.

Notes:
The 4th Bilateral Joint Working Group (JWG) meeting between the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) India and the National Narcotics Board (BNN), Indonesia was held.
The Indian delegation was led by Rakesh Asthana, Director General, Narcotics Control Bureau. During the meeting, NCB highlighted issues of Heroin and Amphetamine Type Stimulant (ATS) trafficking in the country through land and sea routes.

Notes:
India has successfully testfired two Prithvi-2 ballistic missiles off the eastern coast of Odisha in Balasore.
The nuclear-capable surface to surface missiles were manufactured by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Earlier this month, the anti-ship version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile hit its target.

The Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) is a pan-India database of crimes and criminals that is implemented by the National Crime Records Bureau, under the National e-Governance Plan of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
This system is presently being used by 95 per cent of police stations in India. It has been reported that more than 93% of the police stations in the country are filing FIRs using this system.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with their counterpart in Austria on technology cooperation in the Road Infrastructure Sector.
This Indo-Austria bilateral cooperation in the sector would focus on enhanced road safety and exploring financing possibilities in the sector. It will also strengthen ties, enhance trade and regional integration between the two countries.

The Human Freedom Index 2020 is released by the Cato Institute in the United States and Fraser Institute in Canada, which measures the state of Human Freedom in the world.
Out of 162 countries that were ranked in the index, India has been placed at 111st Rank. India was ranked 110 in terms of personal freedom and 105 on economic freedom. An overall score of 6.43 out of 10 was given to India, with the global average score being 6.93.

The Kochi headquartered Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) has recently launched a multilingual call centre for aqua farmers.
This call center is established at Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh. This is expected to the address the technical difficulties of aqua farmers and also impart knowledge about best aqua culture practices.

The Indian cricket team has recently scored its lowest ever total in Test cricket against the Australian cricket team.
In the second innings of the first Test match, Indian team collapsed to 36 runs leaving 9 wickets in 21.2 overs. Indian Team had a 53-run lead in the first innings. India’s earlier lowest score was 42 in the year 1974 against England.

India and Vietnam have recently organised a virtual summit which was participated by the Indian Prime Minister and his Vietnamese counterpart.
During the summit, the countries signed seven agreements for cooperation in fields such as defence, petrochemicals and nuclear energy. They also released a joint vision document for peace and prosperity and a plan of action for bilateral engagements during 2021-23.

Central Bank of India has recently launched contactless ‘RuPay Select’ debit card in association with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
Through this card, the users can avail membership and access to golf courses, gyms, spas and restaurants. The users can also avail discounted health check-ups with the National Common Mobility Debit Card (NCMC).
