The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan has made an announcement to construct a memorial for the Bhopal Gas Tragedy victims.
Nearly 3700 people were killed due to the leak of methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas from Union Carbide factory at Bhopal on December 3, 1984.

The United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) is one of the commissions of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), headquartered at Vienna, Austria.
Recently, during a reconvened session of CND, 53 member states voted for removing Cannabis from Schedule IV of the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs, where it was listed with deadly and addictive drugs. 27 members including India, voted for removing Cannabis from the convention.

Chinese scientists have developed a quantum computer named Jiuzhang. China has claimed it to be the world’s first light-based quantum computer.
It is said that the computer can solve extremely esoteric calculations called Gaussian boson sampling in 200 seconds, which a conventional supercomputer would take 600 million years to provide result.

A Legislation has been passed by the USA’s House of Representatives that seeks to create an initiative to study and promote the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King. 
This paves way for an annual educational forum for scholars and researchers of both countries that would revolve around the preaching and ideologies of Gandhi – Martin Luther King.

A comic book depicting India’s glorious Naval past and maritime heritage has been released by the Navy Vice Chief Vice Admiral G Ashok Kumar.
The book has been published in association with Amar Chitra Katha and has been released on the occasion of Naval Day Celebrations. The book is the first in series of three comic books.

The historical fort cities of Gwalior and Orchha in Madhya Pradesh have been included in UNESCO’s World heritage cities list, under its Urban landscape city programme.
Gwalior was established in the 9th century and was ruled by Gurjar Pratihar Rajvansh, Tomar, Baghel Kachvaho and Scindias. Orchha is popular for temples and palaces. It was the capital of the Bundela kingdom in the 16th century.

The Change – 5 is China’s ambitious lunar project, under which a capsule has recently collected lunar soil samples and has docked successfully with a space craft that is orbiting the moon.
The capsule transferred the lunar samples to the orbiting space craft which would return to the earth.

The Union Ministry of Commerce & Industry along with Union Ministry of AYUSH has decided to work together for establishing AYUSH Export Promotion Council.
The establishment of this organisation would boost the AYUSH export to various international destinations. The two ministries also decided to review the entire AYUSH sector for achieving price and quality competitiveness.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) works under the UN to mobilise the global efforts in SDGs. It is headquartered in New York.
UN SDSN and the Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP) published the Europe Sustainable Development Report 2020. It reports the progress of the European Union, its member states, and other European countries towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mastercard, the National Institute for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (ni-msme) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) have partnered to launch Digital Saksham.
It is a capacity building initiative to create awareness on digitization for MSMEs in the country. Under the programme, more than 3 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across 25 cities in seven states of India will be trained in the digital space.
