German multinational investment bank, Deutsche Bank has recently announced to link the pay of its top executives with their achievement in reaching sustainability goals.
Under the new policy, which come into effect next year, the volume of sustainable financing and investment and how the bank is ranked by rating agencies on sustainability is measured.

The Chinese space agency has recently launched an optical stereo mapping Earth Observation satellite named Gaofen-14.
The satellite was placed in its designated orbit using Long March-3B carrier rocket. The satellite can capture high resolution images of ground objects across the globe.

The International Volunteer Day, also called as the International Volunteer Day Economic and Social Development is observed every year on the 5th December by the United Nations.
This has been mandated by the UN General Assembly since 1885. This day promotes volunteer efforts and volunteerism for achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at local, national and international levels.

In its Global Economic Outlook, the Fitch ratings has raised India’s GDP forecast to -9.4 per cent in the current fiscal year.
Earlier, Fitch had estimated that Indian economy would contract by 10.5 per cent in current fiscal 2020-21. Now, the firm says that the outlook is brighter due to an expected rollout of vaccines in 2021.

The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) has declared “Invest India” as the winner of ‘2020 United Nations Investment Promotion Award’.
Invest India is the Indian Government’s investment promotion and facilitation agency, which was set up in the year 2009 as a Nonprofit venture, under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

At the recent meeting of Central Zoo Authority chaired by Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Prakash Javadekar, two new zoos were granted recognition.
They are the Rajgir Zoo Safari in Nalanda, Bihar and Shaheed Ashfaque Ullah Khan Prani Udyaan in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. With this, the state of Uttar Pradesh has a total of 9 zoos.

The Union Cabinet headed by the Prime Minster Narendra Modi has approved for an MoU between SEBI and Financial and Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF), Luxembourg.
The MoU is expected to enhance the cooperation between the two countries in the field of securities regulations.

The state Government of Madhya Pradesh government has issued a directive to form Matru Sahyogini Samiti’ or Mothers’ Cooperation Committees.
These committees will comprise 10 mothers at each anganwadi, to ensure better monitoring of services delivered at anganwadis. This is ultimately aimed to check malnutrition among children in the state.

Indian state-owned telecommunications company BSNL in partnership with machine connectivity solutions company Skylotech India, to launch a satellite-based narrowband IoT network in India.
The solution will connect with the satellite ground infrastructure of BSNL. This is the world’s first satellite-based narrowband-IoT network. The IoT connectivity is already tested in Indian Railways and fishing vessels among others.
