The report titled “A Breakthrough For People and Planet: Effective And Inclusive Global Governance for Today And The Future” was released recently by the UN’s High-Level Advisory Board (HLAB) on Effective Multilateralism.
The report provides an ambitious strategy to overhaul the global governance system.

US Homeland Security recently announced the creation of the Task Force to figure out how to use the Artificial Intelligence to protect critical infrastructure and screen cargo to find products made with slave labour.
It is expected to play a role in the responsible use of the AI and defending the homeland against the malicious use of this technology.

Kermadec Islands, which are part of New Zealand’s territory, are subtropical island arc in the South Pacific Ocean.
A 7.2 magnitude earthquake recently hit these islands. A tsunami threat is predicted by US Tsunami Warning System following the earthquake.

Manamadurai pottery from Tamil Nadu recently received Geographical Indications (GI) tag. The Vaigai river enriches the clay used for the Manamadurai pottery.
Manamadurai in Sivagangai district is known for pottery making. The circumference of the pot and the neck should be proportionate so that the pot sits flat on the ground.

Guchhi is a wild mushroom naturally grown in the foothills of Himalayas. The Jammu and Kashmir government is planning to promote this fungus species.
Guchhi belongs to the family morchellaceae of the ascomycota and it is rich in vitamins B, C, D, and K. They have spongy, honeycombed heads, usually have two shades.

Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) -made MV MA Lisha is an India-made ferry that was commissioned recently in Georgetown in Guyana.
The ferry is 70 metres long and propelled by two diesel engines and it is the largest and fastest ferry to operate in the riverine and coastal parts of the northwest district of Guyana. 185 years ago, two ships- SS Whitby and SS Hesperus, left from Kolkata with Indian workers for Guyana.

As many as 28 States / UTs have adopted the National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) for Land Records.
As per the Ministry of Rural Development’s Department of Land Resources (DoLR), e-Registration is being done in these States/UTs as they have started sharing data with the national portal of NGDRS.
