Exercise INIOCHOS-23 is a multinational air exercise that will be hosted by the Hellenic Air Force, at the Andravida Air Base in Greece.
India’s air force is participating for the first time in the multinational air drill Iniochos 23. The exercise includes elements from Greece, France, the US, Italy, Saudi Arabia, India, Spain, Jordan, Slovenia, and Cyprus.

A new study has found that a protein called shugosin locks the chromosomes into X shapes to give them their structure.
The protein’s function is to maintain the stability of chromosomes during cell division. Also called as SGO1, this protein fits precisely into a sort of keyhole which gives the chromosome its X shape.

‘The State of the World’s Children 2023: For Every Child, Vaccination’ report was released recently by the UNICEF India.
According to this report, India is one of the countries with highest vaccine confidence in the world. The popular perception of the importance of vaccines for children held firm or improved only in China, India and Mexico out of 55 countries studied.

NASA’s Super Pressure Balloon Imaging Telescope (SuperBIT), which launched recently, has captured its first research images.
The SuperBIT is a diffraction-limited balloon-borne telescope that functions within the Earth’s stratosphere to achieve space-like operating conditions and performance. It recently captured antennae galaxies and tarantula nebula.

Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma MedTech Sector is a government scheme that will be launched to strengthen Research and Development in the Indian pharmaceuticals and medical technology sectors.
It will be implemented over five years with an outlay of Rs.5,000 crore.

‘Sangathan se Samriddhi’ scheme was recently launched by the Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh.
Its purpose is to empower marginalized rural households by bringing all eligible rural women into the fold of Self-Help Groups.

The first World Book Day was observed in 1995. International Decade of Indigenous Languages will be observed from 2022 to 32. The UNESCO theme of the World Book Day 2023 is ‘Indigenous Languages’.

‘National Panchayati Raj Day’ is celebrated every year on April 24. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj in collaboration with the state Government of Madhya Pradesh is commemorating National Panchayati Raj Day in Madhya Pradesh as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – Samaaveshi Vikaas (Inclusive Development).
The Prime Minister was the Chief Guest at the national function.
