The Indigenous Faith Day (IFD) 2019 was celebrated in Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh. The Day aims to preserve the rich culture and identity of the State. The function was presided by Tezu legislator Karikho Kri. The programme was organized by the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) of Tezu. The tribes of the district showcased their cultures in a colourful programme.

New Delhi is to host the National Sikh Games (NSG) 2020. The game will be held from 9-11 January 2020 across various venues in New Delhi. NSG is a modelled replica of Australian Sikh Games. The announcement was made by Manjinder Singh Sirsa, President Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Committee. NSG is dedicated to the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.NSG aims to bring sports to the heart of the Sikh community and tap in a unique sporting talents of Sikh Youths. The game aims to tackle the problem of obesity, drug menace among Sikh children through sports and physical activities.

Ursula von der Leyen took charge as the President of the European Commission. She replaced Jean-Claude Juncker. She is the first woman to become the President of the European Commission. Ms.Ursula, the 60-year-old gynecologist, started her political career at her early age of 40. In 1990 she joined Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union party (CDU) and worked for 14 years. Leyen moved to the Labor Ministry in 2009. She became the first female defense minister in 2014.

Joker star Joaquin Phoenix has been named by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals as its 2019 Person of the Year. A vegan since the age of 3, Phoenix, a usually interview-averse Hollywood actor, has been a longtime supporter of the animal rights organization.

The U.S. House of Representatives on December 3, 2019 overwhelmingly approved a bill that would require the Trump administration to toughen its response to China’s crackdown on its Muslim minority, demanding sanctions on senior Chinese officials and export bans. The purpose of the bill is to address gross violations of universally recognized human rights, including the mass internment of over 1,000,000 Uighurs. It also accuses China of systematically discriminating against Uighurs by denying them a range of civil and political rights, including the freedoms of expression, religion, movement and a fair trial.

ISRO has planned to launch sharp-eyed surveillance satellite RISAT-2BR1 (Radar Imaging Satellite-2) with synthetic aperture radar (SAR) on 11 December 2019. RISAT-2BR1 is a radar imaging satellite. It is dubbed as a spy satellite.  It can take pictures of the earth during day and night even under cloudy conditions.  The satellites will help 24/7 border surveillance along with checking infiltration. It will keep an eye on terror or anti-national activities across the borders

The government launched the fourth phase of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) to stimulate air connectivity in an affordable way. Ministry of Civil Aviation has invited bids for the 4th round of Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN. The scheme was launched by the Ministry of civil aviation (MoCA). The scheme is a part of the government’s vision to operationalize over 100 airports in smaller towns and cities over the next five years.
The scheme focuses to introduce connectivity to priority areas like North East India, UT Jammu and Kashmir, UT Ladakh, hilly states in other parts of the country, and islands.The scheme was launched in April, 2017. The Regional Connectivity Scheme is also known as UDAN or Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik.

The Indian Government has introduced Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a subject in class IX from the session 2019-20 in the schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Centre has also launched a twelve hours Inspire module in which schools can take up with the students of class VIII. The move aims to enhance the multidisciplinary approach in teaching-learning and to sensitize the new generation.

‘Call of Duty: Mobile’ (CODM) has reaped nearly $87 million in global player spending and more than 172 million downloads in its first two months. The game picked up nearly 21 million installs in November, compared to almost 146 million in October, revealed analytics firm Sensor Tower recently. As per report, the game has been a hit in the US, where it has seen nearly 28.5 million installs, or 16.6% of all downloads. India came in second with 17.5 million installs, or 10.2%, and Brazil ranked third with 12 million installs, or 7%. Google Play generated the majority of downloads over 89 million, or 52%. The iOS version, meanwhile, accumulated nearly 83 million downloads, or 48%.

Indian Government has declared Port of Mongla and Chattogram as Ports of Call under Protocol on Inland Water Transit and Trade (PIWT&T) between India and Bangladesh. Mongla and Chattogram are declared as Ports of Call under the Coastal Shipping Agreement between India and Bangladesh. An MoU, Agreement and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) was signed between India and Bangladesh on the use of Chattogram Port & Mongla Ports for the movement of goods to and from India.
