Notes:
The Delhi Assembly along with the Lok Sabha will host a 3-day Commonwealth Youth Parliament (CYP) from 25th November 2019. About 47 participants from 24 countries will participate in the event. The CYP  is an annual gathering hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA). It brings together young people aged 18–29 from across the Commonwealth of Nations to discuss issues of democracy and governance.

Notes:
The Oxford Dictionaries has declared “climate emergency” as its 2019 Word of the Year. In 2019, “climate” became the most common word associated with “emergency”.  The Word of the Year citation is intended to highlight a word or expression shown through usage evidence to reflect the ethos, mood, or preoccupations of the passing year, and have a lasting potential as a term of cultural significance.

In tennis, World No. 1 Rafael Nadal has clinched 6th Davis Cup title for Spain after beating Denis Shapovalov of Canada in front of a jubilant home crowd in Madrid. Nadal defeated Shapovalov 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) to clinch Spain’s 2-0 win against Canada.

In Telangana, the Indian Railway Institute of Financial Management (IRIFM) has been set up  in Hyderabad to impart professional training in management of railway finances. The institution marks an important addition to the list of premier professional institutions in the country in the field of financial management. The IRIFM institution is based on a 14-acre campus at Moula-Ali, Secunderabad.

Notes:
Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy introduced a bill in the Lok Sabha to merge two Union Territories — Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli – into one. The move comes after Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) was divided into two UTs — J&K and Ladakh. Currently, India has 9 UTs after the creation of the UTs of J&K and Ladakh.

The Indore-based Devi Ahilya University has become the first university of Madhya Pradesh to be accorded A grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Now, the Centre of higher learning became entitled to several other facilities. It may introduce courses recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) without the latter’s permission besides commencing open distance-learning courses. The institute was established in 1964 by an Act of Legislature of Madhya Pradesh.

The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) London has conferred the Honorary Fellowship of the Society for the year 2019 to G Satheesh Reddy, Secretary Department of Defence R&D and Chairman DRDO. Reddy is the first Indian recipient of this prestigious award in over 100 years. Honorary Fellowship from RAeS is one of the world’s highest distinctions for aerospace achievement awarded for only the most exceptional contributions to the aerospace profession. It is considered as equivalent to the Nobel Prize in the aerospace domain.

Lokpal Chairman Justice (retired) Pinaki Chandra Ghose launched the new logo for the apex anti-corruption ombudsman. As per law, the logo symbolizes how Lokpal protects and cares for the people of India by establishing justice. It is designed by Prashant Mishra, a resident of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. The logo symbolizes various essence of LOKPAL figuratively in shapes such as: ombudsman (judges bench), people (three human figures), vigilance (Ashok chakra forming eye–pupil), law (shape of book in orange) and judicial (the tricolor two hands are placed below forming a unique balance). The logo is in tricolor representing the national essence of LOKPAL .A new motto titled “Ma Gridhah Kasyasvidhanam (Do not be greedy for anyone’s wealth)”  was also adopted.

Notes:
Indian archer Deepika Kumari won gold in the women’s individual recurve event of the 21st Asian Championships in Bangkok. In the one-sided final, she defeated her compatriot Ankita Bhakat by 6-0. Earlier, the duo had secured an individual Olympic quota for the country by storming into the semifinals of the event.

The Union Government has proposed to set up new rocket launch pad near Kulasekarapattinam in Tamil Nadu.The development comes on the backdrop of increasing launches from India, both for domestic and international customers.  Currently, the ISRO has two  operational launch pads at Sriharikotta  from where all GSLV and PSLV flights take place.
