The first-ever joint naval exercise titled “Za’ir-Al-Bahr (Roar of the Sea)” has started between Qatar & India in Doha. The exercise would strengthen cooperation and increase interoperability between the two navies.

The book “The Daughter from a Wishing Tree Unusual Tales about Women in Mythology” has been authored by acclaimed author and Infosys Foundation chairman Sudha Murty. The book will tell numerous untold tales of women in mythology. It will talk about the magic spell that can make a dead person come alive, and the wishing tree that gives the wonderful gift of daughters. It will also answer some very curiosity invoking questions like who the gods turn to for support when they are helpless.

The World Children’s Day (WCD) is observed every year on 20th of November across the world to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare. The 2019 theme is “Children of today, our keepers tomorrow”. This year is special as it marks 30 years of the Convention on the Rights of the Child – 30 years of child rights that have helped transform children’s lives around the world.

For the first time, NASA scientists have discovered the presence of water vapor above  the surface of Jupiter’s icy moon Europa using the W. M. Keck Observatory in Hawaii. The researchers detected 5,202 pounds of water releasing from Europa per second, which could fill an Olympic-size swimming pool within minutes.

Renowned naturalist and broadcaster Sir David Attenborough has been chosen for the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development for 2019. He has been recognized for a lifetime of doing more to reveal the wonders of the natural world to us than perhaps any other individual.

On the occasion of World Fisheries Day (WFD-2019), Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister  Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched  a welfare scheme – YSR Matsyakara Bharosa – for fishermen. Under this scheme, 1,32,332 fishermen in the 21-60 age group will get an enhanced monetary relief of Rs 10,000 each during the marine ban and lean period every year between April and June. Also, the subsidy on diesel has been increased from Rs 6.03 to Rs 9 per litre, applicable to the mechanised (3000 Ltrs) and motorized boats (300 Ltrs) for 10 months every year.

The world’s first Muslim yoga camp has started at Kanva Ashram in Kotdwar town of Uttarakhand on 20th November & will conclude on November 24. Approx 500 Muslim men and women from different countries are participating in the event.  The event  will send a healthy message to the world that yoga does not belong to a particular religion and is beneficial for entire humanity.

Microsoft has launched its ‘K-12 Education Transformation Framework’ to facilitate comprehensive digital transformation of schools in India. The framework consists of four pillars — Leadership and policy, Modern teaching and learning, Intelligent environments and Technology blueprint. The purpose of the framework is to provide education leadership, government decision-makers, teachers and most importantly learners, tools to achieve the ambitious change many schools seek, and to thoughtfully integrate technology in powerful and productive ways.

Indian bodybuilder Chitharesh Natesan from Kerala has become the first Indian to be crowned Mr Universe 2019 at the 11th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship (WBPF) at the Island city of Jeju in South Korea. He won the title in the 90 kg category in the WBPF 2019. Earlier, he also bagged the Mr Asia 2019 title at the Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship (ABBF) held in Thailand in October.

Manisha Kulshreshtha, the noted writer from Rajasthan, has been conferred the 28th Bihari Puraskar for 2018 for her novel ‘Swapnapash’. The award is presented by the KK Birla Foundation and is for writers of Rajasthani origin. It is given annually to an outstanding work in Hindi or Rajasthani published in the past 10 years. The award is named after famous Hindi poet Bihari. It carries a cash prize of Rs 2.5 lakh, a citation, and a plaque.
