Sundarbans of Bihar are located in Bhagalpur districts. These are one of the three areas after Cambodia and Assam for Garuda habitation. A Garuda rescue and rehabilitation center is functioning in Bhagalpur to give treatment to injured Garuda.

The Jivitputrika vrat are performed by the mother where she wishes for the wellbeing and a long life of her sons.  Hindu women pass this ritual on to younger female generations- in most cases their daughters. If the mother does not have any daughters she will pass it onto her younger sisters. Jivitputrika, is popular among women because Hindu women play a central role in the household; they are responsible for the protection of their children and husband.

Barabar caves are a set of 7 rock-cut-caves dating back to the third century BC. These are located on the twin hills of Barabar and Nagarjuni. These are also known as Lomas Rishi Cave.

Patna Metro is a rapid transit system under construction in Patna. It will be owned and operated by state-run Patna Metro Rail Corporation. It is expected to run on two corridors by 2025. This project is being constructed under a Public Private Partnership mode at an estimated cost of Rs 13,365.77 crore. Under the first phase, East–west corridor (Danapur Cantonment to Khemnichak) as well as north–south corridor (Patna Railway Station to New ISBT) will be completed.

Jehanabad district in Bihar has become the first district to have 100% digital banking. Out of 1013438 active account holders, 1009895 are using at least one of digital banking products like Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Debit Card, UPI and other similar facilities. This account for 99.65 percent of the total active account.

For the first time in Bihar, a heifer was born after a cow conceived through test tube. Embryo transfer in-vitro fertilization technology resulted in the birth of heifer. This is a revolutionary step for breed promotion and conservation. This process was started in on September 27, 2020 and the cow gave birth to a healthy calf in July 2021.

Notes:
Bihar Government launched an “innovative Home Isolation Tracking (HIT) app” to monitor the condition of COVID patients in home isolation. As part of this project, health workers at grassroot level visit patients in home isolation and record their temperature & oxygen level on a daily basis. This data is fed to the App. On the basis of information, necessary action is taken by health department for ailing persons. The HIT App was developed by Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation (BELTRON) under the guidance of Bihar health department.

Notes:
Bihar Government has decided to use biochar to increase the diminishing fertilizer capacity of soil in state. Biochar will be made by burning paddy straw at highest temperature. For this, agriculture department will buy stubble from farmers and give biochar back to farmers to mix it in soil. Bihar agricultural university has started working on this technology.
