Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel University of Agriculture and Technology was established in 2000 at Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. It serves western UP’s agricultural education and research needs. Other agriculture universities are: Faizabad (Acharya Narendra Deva), Kanpur (CSA University), and Jhansi (Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University).

The Sardar@150 National Unity March was launched in Anand, Gujarat by Mera Yuva (MY) Bharat under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports to mark 150 years of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It is an 11-day, 180 km National Padyatra to the Statue of Unity, promoting Ek Bharat–Aatmanirbhar Bharat (One India–Self-reliant India). Four parallel Pravah Road Yatras—Ganga, Yamuna, Narmada and Godavari—are also moving towards Anand to join the National Padyatra.

The first housing society—Pritam Nagar Cooperative Housing Society—was established in Ahmedabad on January 28, 1927, under the leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and initiated by Pritam Rai Desai. In 1927, after being elected Chairman of Ahmedabad Municipality, Sardar Patel introduced the concept of cooperative housing for the middle class. The project was spearheaded by Pritam Rai Desai and inaugurated on January 28, 1927, in the locality now called Pritam Nagar, marking India’s first registered cooperative housing society.
