Japan’s $1.2 trillion Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) is the world’s largest pension fund. It was originally set up in 2001. In 2006, there was organisational change and it was reset up as an independent administrative institution with mission to manage and invest the reserve funds of the employees pension.
