PRISM-SG Portal Launched to Streamline Bridge Construction

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has launched the PRISM-SG Portal in New Delhi to enhance efficiency and coordination in infrastructure development. The digital platform focuses on streamlining processes related to the construction of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and railway bridges, addressing delays and improving transparency in approvals and inspections.

What is PRISM-SG Portal?

PRISM-SG stands for Portal for Rail-Road Inspection and Stages Management – Steel Girders. It is a technology-driven initiative designed to digitise and integrate critical procedures involved in bridge construction. The portal aims to simplify workflows by bringing all stakeholders onto a unified digital platform, ensuring smoother coordination among agencies.

Key features of the portal

The portal enables end-to-end online management of documentation and inspection processes. It covers submission of Quality Assurance Plans, Welding Procedure Specification Sheets, and fabrication stage inspections of steel girders. Users can submit documents, track scrutiny, resolve queries, schedule inspections, and upload reports, photographs, and test results. The system also ensures a complete audit trail with real-time monitoring.

Integrated platform for stakeholders

PRISM-SG connects multiple stakeholders, including Road Owning Departments, Indian Railways, contractors, fabricators, and inspection agencies.
