PRARAMBH 2026 Launched to Promote New Income Tax Act

The Union Finance Minister has launched ‘PRARAMBH 2026’, a nationwide awareness campaign aimed at educating citizens about the provisions of the Income Tax Act, 2025. The initiative comes ahead of the Act’s implementation from April 1, 2026, and seeks to ensure smooth adoption through widespread public engagement and simplified communication.

Objective and Vision of PRARAMBH

PRARAMBH, which stands for Policy Reform and Responsible Action for Mission Viksit Bharat, is designed to enhance taxpayer awareness and compliance. The campaign aligns with the government’s broader vision of creating a transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly taxation system. It focuses on bridging information gaps and promoting voluntary compliance among taxpayers.

Multi-Channel Outreach Strategy

The initiative adopts a comprehensive communication strategy, utilising print media, television, radio, outdoor campaigns, digital platforms, and social media. This multi-channel approach ensures that information about the new Income Tax Act reaches diverse sections of society, including urban and rural populations.

Key Features and Digital Innovations

PRARAMBH 2026 offers a range of taxpayer-centric resources, including guidance notes, brochures, tutorial videos, frequently asked questions, and educational content. Public engagement activities such as the MyGov Quiz aim to increase participation and awareness. A notable feature is the AI-enabled chatbot ‘Kar Saathi’, which provides real-time assistance on tax-related queries. Additionally, the upgraded Income Tax Website 2.0 promises improved navigation and efficient service delivery.
