The 40th Indira Marathon in Prayagraj showcased powerful performances and enthusiastic participation as athletes from across India competed over the classic 42.195 km route. The annual event maintained its reputation as a prestigious long-distance race, drawing seasoned runners and emerging talent from several states.

Highlights of the Men’s Race

Pradeep Singh Chauhan of Uttarakhand delivered a commanding run to win the men’s category. He was closely followed by Gyan Babu from Pratapgarh in second position, while local runner Rohit Saroj secured third place, adding pride to the host city.

Women’s Category Sees Competitive Field

Haryana’s Renu Kumari clinched the women’s title with a strong finish. Maharashtra athletes dominated the remaining podium spots, with Mandan Jadhav taking second position and Jyoti Shankar securing third, reflecting a highly competitive women’s field.

The marathon began near Anand Bhawan at 6:30 am and followed the established city circuit. Runners passed major landmarks such as Swaraj Bhawan, Allahabad University, the Army Red Eagle Stadium, the High Court, and All Saints Cathedral before reaching the finishing point at Rewa Road.
