NCSM Wins Two PRSI National Awards 2025
The National Council of Science Museums (NCSM), under the Ministry of Culture, has been honoured with two prestigious PRSI National Awards 2025 by the Public Relations Society of India. The recognition highlights NCSM’s effective public outreach and innovative communication initiatives that blend culture, sustainability and digital engagement at a national scale.
Awards and Recognised Initiatives
NCSM received one award in the “Best Use of Social Media in a Corporate Campaign” category for its Har Ghar Museum initiative. The second award was conferred in the “Special/Prestige Publication” category for the “Waste to Art” publication. Both initiatives were acknowledged for their originality, public participation and strong alignment with national cultural and sustainability objectives.
Waste to Art: Creativity Meets Sustainability
The “Waste to Art” publication documents a flagship initiative launched under Special Campaign 4.0 and Swachhata Hi Sewa. It showcases how nearly 1,250 kg of waste, including metal scrap, electronic components and discarded containers, was transformed into art installations across NCSM units nationwide. These artworks also function as educational exhibits promoting circular economy principles. The initiative involved hands-on workshops and national-level competitions that actively engaged students and local communities, with selected works amplified through NCSM’s social media platforms.
Har Ghar Museum and Digital Cultural Outreach
Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Har Ghar Museum campaign is built on the idea that every household preserves a piece of India’s living heritage. The initiative encourages citizens to share photographs, videos and stories of heirlooms, artefacts and collectibles, creating a digital archive of culturally and emotionally significant objects. Through systematic documentation and storytelling, the campaign integrates personal histories into the national cultural narrative and promotes awareness about heritage preservation.
