National Women’s Day

National Women’s Day is observed on February 13. It marks the birth anniversary of Sarojini Naidu, who was born on 13th February 1879. Naidu earned the title of “nightingale of India” and “Bharat Kokila” because of her notable works in poetry. She is the first women governor of the United Provinces (Uttar Pradesh). In 1925, she was elected as the President of the Indian National Congress.
