National Voters’ Day

25th January is marked as the National Voters’ Day to commemorate the foundation of the Election Commission of India, which was established on the same day in the year 1950. Since 2011, this day has been observed to highlight the significance of voting in a democracy. It seeks to educate and encourage electorates to vote during the elections. This year’s theme is ‘Making Our Voters Empowered, Vigilant, Safe and Informed’.
