Musalia Mudavadi to Attend Raisina Dialogue in Delhi

Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi will visit New Delhi from March 5 to 7 to participate in the 11th Raisina Dialogue, India’s premier conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics. His visit underscores Nairobi’s push to deepen diplomatic and economic ties with India while positioning Kenya as a strategic gateway to Africa. Mudavadi is expected to articulate Kenya’s foreign policy priorities and seek expanded trade, investment and bilateral cooperation.

Focus on Geopolitics and Geoeconomics

The Raisina Dialogue has emerged as a key global forum bringing together political leaders, policymakers and strategic experts. Mudavadi’s participation reflects Kenya’s growing engagement in global governance debates. As Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, he is expected to highlight Africa’s strategic importance in global supply chains, digital transformation and energy transition. Kenya aims to present itself as a stable economic hub in East Africa with strong democratic institutions and regional influence.

Strengthening Kenya–India Bilateral Ties

During his visit, Mudavadi will also take part in the Kenya–India Joint Commission for Cooperation. The discussions are expected to focus on trade expansion, investment flows, technology transfer and capacity building. India is already a key trading partner for Kenya, particularly in pharmaceuticals, textiles and agricultural products. Nairobi seeks greater Indian investment in infrastructure, manufacturing and renewable energy. The two nations are also exploring enhanced collaboration in digital public infrastructure and innovation ecosystems.

Africa’s Demographic and Resource Advantage

Mudavadi is expected to emphasise Africa’s youthful population and mineral wealth as drivers of long-term global growth. With nearly 70 per cent of Africa’s population under the age of 30, the continent presents significant opportunities in technology adoption and labour markets. Kenya, in particular, has positioned itself as a regional technology leader, often referred to as the “Silicon Savannah” due to its vibrant start-up ecosystem and mobile money penetration.
