MoSPI Launches PAIMANA Portal for Infrastructure Monitoring
The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has operationalised a new web-based portal, PAIMANA (Project Assessment, Infrastructure Monitoring & Analytics for Nation-building), to monitor Central Sector Infrastructure Projects with a cost of ₹150 crore and above. The portal replaces the earlier OCMS-2006 system and marks a significant upgrade in how large infrastructure projects are tracked and analysed by the Government of India.
Integrated, Data-Driven Monitoring Framework
PAIMANA has been developed on the principle of “one data, one entry” and is integrated with the Integrated Project Monitoring Portal of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade through APIs. This enables automatic data flow from Central Ministries and Departments, reducing manual data entry. Around 60 per cent of projects on PAIMANA are now updated automatically, improving standardisation, accuracy, and efficiency in project monitoring.
Scale and Progress of Infrastructure Projects
As of December 2025, 1,392 ongoing infrastructure projects with a revised cost of ₹35.10 lakh crore have been onboarded across 17 Central Ministries and Departments. Cumulative expenditure on these projects stands at ₹19.01 lakh crore, accounting for about 54.1 per cent of the revised project cost. Nearly one-third of projects have achieved over 80 per cent physical progress, while around 16 per cent have crossed 80 per cent financial completion, indicating a substantial number of projects nearing completion.
Sectoral and Ministry-Wise Distribution
Transport and Logistics dominate the infrastructure pipeline, accounting for 896 projects with a revised cost of ₹17.70 lakh crore. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways leads in project count, while the Ministry of Railways commands the highest share of total project cost. Energy projects form the second-largest sector, followed by communication, water and sanitation, and social infrastructure, reflecting balanced but connectivity-focused infrastructure growth.

Completed Projects and New Additions
During December 2025, 17 projects reported 100 per cent physical completion, including major power and renewable energy projects. In the same month, 20 newly sanctioned projects entered the under-implementation stage and were brought under PAIMANA’s monitoring, spanning railways, urban transport, health, coal, and civil aviation. These additions further strengthen PAIMANA’s role as a centralised national repository supporting evidence-based decision-making in infrastructure development.
