Kochi to Host 9th International Spice Conference 2026
Kochi will host the 9th edition of the International Spice Conference (ISC 2026) from February 23 to 26, positioning India once again at the centre of global discussions on the spice economy. Organised by the All India Spices Exporters Forum (AISEF), the four-day event will bring together policymakers, exporters, researchers and innovators from across continents to deliberate on the future trajectory of the global spice industry.
Global platform for spice industry dialogue
The conference, to be held in Kochi, carries the theme “Spice 360 – Getting Future Ready”. It reflects the need for a holistic approach to growth amid changing trade dynamics, climate challenges and evolving consumer preferences. Over the years, ISC has emerged as a globally recognised platform for collaboration across the spice value chain, from farm-level production to international markets.
Leadership voices and keynote sessions
The conference will be inaugurated by Amitabh Kant, former G20 Sherpa and ex-CEO of NITI Aayog. He will deliver the keynote address on “Transforming Agro-Industry: Innovation, Inclusion & Global Leadership.” Martin Sonntag, CEO of Oterra, will attend as Guest of Honour and speak on shaping the next decade of food and nutrition through collaboration, trust and responsibility.
Kerala’s historic role and future relevance
AISEF Chairman Emmanuel Nambusseril noted that hosting the conference in Kerala holds special significance. The state has been at the heart of the global spice trade for centuries. Against the backdrop of uncertainty in global commerce, ISC 2026 aims to reimagine growth, resilience and sustainability for the sector. Vice Chairman Nishesh Shah added that the theme underscores the industry’s collective responsibility to prepare for future risks and opportunities.
