India’s First National AI and Digital Water Summit

India’s first National AI and Digital Water Summit, titled the National AI Summit on Water 2026, will be hosted by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) in Bengaluru on 27 May 2026. The summit is jointly organised by BWSSB and Elets Technomedia Pvt. Ltd., and the Memorandum of Understanding for the event was signed on 20 February 2026.

Artificial Intelligence in Urban Water Management

The summit will focus on AI-enabled smart operations, digital twins, water-loss management, energy optimisation, data governance, ethical AI, and cybersecurity. These themes are linked with digital systems used in water utilities, urban infrastructure, and public service delivery.

BWSSB Digital Transformation Initiatives

BWSSB plans to present its digital transformation measures, including large-scale SCADA deployment, GIS mapping, IoT-enabled tanker tracking, and smart metering platforms. SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, and GIS stands for Geographic Information System.

Urban Water Governance Framework

The summit will also present BWSSB’s Five Panchasutras framework for future urban water governance. The framework includes artificial intelligence, data-driven governance, smart infrastructure, sustainable investments, and climate-resilient water security systems.
