IndiaAI, Sweden Sign Pact to Boost AI Cooperation

On the sidelines of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, the IndiaAI Mission and Business Sweden signed a Statement of Intent (SoI) to deepen bilateral cooperation in Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies. The agreement aims to promote trade, innovation and investment engagement between India and Sweden.

The SoI establishes a structured framework for collaboration in the development, deployment and application of AI solutions, focusing on tangible industrial and societal outcomes.

Sweden–India Technology and AI Corridor

As part of the partnership, both sides will jointly launch the Sweden–India Technology and Artificial Intelligence Corridor (SITAC). This flagship programme will serve as a platform for structured engagement among government bodies, startups, industry leaders and academic institutions from both nations.

SITAC will facilitate conferences, thematic workshops, ecosystem exchanges, field visits to innovation hubs and the identification of joint innovation and investment opportunities.

Focus on Innovation and Responsible AI

The collaboration builds upon long-standing India–Sweden ties and reflects shared priorities in leveraging AI for economic growth, sustainable development and innovation. Both nations have emphasised responsible AI practices and the management of associated technological risks.

IndiaAI Mission seeks to develop a comprehensive national AI ecosystem by improving access to compute infrastructure, data and skilled talent. Sweden contributes strengths in industrial innovation, advanced research and responsible AI deployment.

Expanding Trade and Investment Engagement

The agreement is expected to open avenues for joint research, startup collaboration and bilateral deployment of AI solutions across priority sectors. Enterprises and research institutions in both countries will be encouraged to co-develop scalable and inclusive AI technologies.
