India Launches BRICS Presidency 2026 Website and Logo

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Tuesday launched the official website and logo for India’s BRICS Presidency 2026, outlining New Delhi’s vision for its upcoming chairship. He said India would focus on harnessing the collective strengths of BRICS nations to promote greater global welfare at a time of rising international uncertainties.

India’s Vision for BRICS Chairship

Jaishankar said India’s assumption of the BRICS chairship in 2026 comes at a significant juncture, as the grouping completes 20 years since its inception. Over the past two decades, BRICS has evolved into a major platform for cooperation among emerging markets and developing economies. He noted that the grouping has expanded both its agenda and membership in response to changing global realities, while remaining committed to people-centric development, dialogue, and practical cooperation.

Humanity-First and People-Centric Approach

The minister said India’s approach to the chairship is inspired by the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and anchored in a humanity-first outlook. The theme for India’s BRICS Presidency — building for resilience, innovation, cooperation, and sustainability — reflects the belief that deeper cooperation among members can address shared challenges in a balanced and inclusive manner. He emphasised that development for all remains central to India’s vision.

Symbolism of the BRICS 2026 Logo

Explaining the newly unveiled logo, Jaishankar said it represents unity in diversity. The design blends tradition and modernity, with petals incorporating the colours of all BRICS member countries. The logo symbolises shared purpose, collective strength, and respect for the distinct identities of each member. According to him, it visually conveys how BRICS draws power from cooperation while valuing diversity.
