India–Israel Ties Strengthen at Global Blue Food Security Summit

Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh will undertake an official visit to Israel from 13–15 January 2026 to participate in the Second Global Summit on Blue Food Security: Sea the Future, being held in Eilat. The visit highlights the deepening strategic and economic engagement between India and Israel, particularly in fisheries, aquaculture and the broader blue economy.

Participation in Global Blue Food Security Summit

The visit is being undertaken on the invitation of Israel’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Avi Dichter. The Sea the Future Summit brings together policymakers, industry leaders and researchers to deliberate on sustainable fisheries, aquaculture innovation and food security. India’s participation reflects its growing focus on sustainable blue food systems and climate-resilient aquatic resources.

Bilateral Engagements and Policy Cooperation

During the visit, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh will hold bilateral meetings with his Israeli counterpart and ministers from other participating countries. Discussions are expected to centre on strengthening bilateral cooperation through policy alignment and institutional partnerships, promoting sustainable fisheries management, modern aquaculture technologies, and advancing joint research and development initiatives. Enhancing trade, investment and market access through improved standards will also be a key focus.

The Union Minister is scheduled to meet chief executive officers of major Israeli companies and start-ups operating in agriculture, fisheries and aquaculture.
