India, France Adopt Innovation Roadmap 2030
India and France adopted the Innovation Roadmap 2030 and launched a Dialogue on Economic Security during bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron in Nice, France, on 14 June 2026. The two sides also announced 13 key outcomes, including cooperation in artificial intelligence, startups, trade, education, and digital payments.
Innovation Roadmap 2030
The Innovation Roadmap 2030 is a bilateral framework for cooperation in critical and emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, startups, and innovation ecosystems. India and France also agreed to create a Joint India-France AI Working Group for cooperation on AI and its global governance.
Economic Security Dialogue
The Dialogue on Economic Security covers supply chain resilience in critical minerals, semiconductors, critical technologies, energy, and cybersecurity. A high-level mechanism will be established to support the goal of doubling bilateral trade between India and France within five years.
Institutional and People-to-People Cooperation
Nineteen agreements were signed between institutions in the innovation ecosystems of both countries. France has set a target of hosting 30,000 Indian students by 2030, and the two countries reaffirmed cooperation on mobility for students, researchers, and professionals.
