IIM Rohtak secured first place at Hermes’ Dialogue 6.0, a national-level debate hosted by Birla Institute of Management Technology. The event brought together participants from leading institutions across India, with representation linked to 12 nations. It highlighted the increasing importance of global policy discussions within management education.

Theme focused on energy independence

The 2026 edition centred on the theme of whether nations should prioritise energy independence to ensure global energy security amid rising geopolitical tensions. The topic reflected contemporary global concerns, where energy is increasingly viewed not just as an economic resource but also as a strategic and political tool influencing international relations.

Top performers in the competition

The winning team from IIM Rohtak, Team LeBroom, demonstrated strong analytical and debating skills. Team Magnus from FORE School of Management secured second place, while Team Strategy from Shri Ram College of Commerce finished as second runners-up. Finalists also included participants from premier institutions such as IIM Udaipur, IIT Patna and International Management Institute.

The competition involved multiple rounds designed to test knowledge, analytical thinking and policy articulation. It began with an online assessment, followed by a case-based submission. The final round simulated global forums, where participants represented different countries and debated policy positions on energy security, mirroring discussions at platforms like the United Nations and G20.
