The Delhi government’s New Era of Entrepreneurial Ecosystem and Vision (NEEV) programme is reshaping school education by replacing rote learning with hands-on, real-world experiences. Introduced earlier this year, it equips students from Classes 8 to 12 with entrepreneurial skills designed to build confidence, creativity and problem-solving ability.

From Memorisation to Mindset Building

NEEV integrates structured, activity-based modules into the classroom, encouraging students to think independently and apply concepts beyond textbooks. Drawing from real-life success stories such as Manoj Kumar Sharma, whose perseverance inspired the film “12th Fail”, the programme focuses on nurturing resilience, self-belief and initiative among young learners.

Motivational and Peer-Led Activities

Inspirational storytelling forms a core pillar of the curriculum. Activities like Role Model Research and Talk Show enable middle-school students to study personalities who overcame adversity. The Tumse Ho Payega! Jar promotes peer motivation, where students share encouraging notes or aspirations, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.

Entrepreneurial Exercises for All Grades

Hands-on challenges are central to NEEV’s approach. Business in a Box – Rapid Fire Challenge prompts learners to generate instant business ideas using everyday objects. Startup of the Day motivates them to identify common problems and propose solutions, drawing on examples from companies such as Ola and Flipkart. Senior students develop minimum viable products, test ideas, gather feedback and learn concepts of pivoting and scaling with references to Zepto, Instagram and Meesho.
