HIT Covid App
Home Isolation Tracking (HIT) Covid App is a monitoring app that has been launched recently by the Government of Bihar. This app has been developed by the Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation (BELTRON) in collaboration with the Bihar health department. It was recently in news because of the praise garnered on the app by the Prime Minister.

The main reason for the development and implementation of this app is that all those patients who are infected with COVID-19 and are in home isolation can be monitored through this App,
Q2. How does the App work?
Patient data is fed into the app on a daily after the health workers visits the patients to record their temperature and oxygen levels. With the information received through this app, necessary steps are taken by the Health Department for the patients.
Q3. Where the App was initially launched?
Initially this app was launched in five districts of the state for a trial run and after witnessing its success it was made accessible across the state.
Q4. Who are engaged to check on the isolated patients?
80,000 ASHA workers and 15,000 rural health workers have been trained by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) so that they can be engaged for daily door-to-door survey of the patients in home isolation.
Q5. What were the comments of the Prime Minister on this application?
Recently, this app drew praise from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he came to know of this app while having a meeting with the officials from several districts of Bihar. Hearing about the app he said that the technical details should be forwarded to the Union Health Ministry so that the app can be implemented countrywide.
